There have been a lot of rumors and accusations flying around today, a little site maintenance seems to send certain people into paranoid paroxysms and convulsions.

I've personally been too busy today to pay much attention but I've just read through several threads of suspicions, complaints and conjecture regarding the site and I just have to laugh.

Sure, it's to be expected that a conspiracy site is going to have its share of suspicious or even dangerously RABID members - but I have to say, after a couple of years of being a member and now a mod, I've run across very little to complain about, and I find it laughable to see how many people, (even some who have been theoretically banned, but who keep coming back with inane venomous attacks), are so concerned about every little action, imagined or not, that mods, admin and supposed hackers are performing here.

The reality is that this site is more open than most, hardly ever censors anything but the most blatant idiocy and continues to grow despite its detractors.

If anything threatens DTV, it IS our wide open policy and tolerance - people abuse it on a daily basis and many seem to be here simply on a mission to dominate or destroy rather than participate.

Think about it. If you feel like you can't trust the place, go the fuck elsewhere. If you want to hang around try to play a constructive role. DTV is what the members make it. The mods and admin are doing the best they can to keep the freedom with minimal control over content. The format works, and under the microscope the membership uses constantly, there's little little that escapes notice, so it would be pretty difficult to run the place in a dishonest way.

The occasional suspicions are to be expected, and are generally healthy, I guess, but sometimes the uproar says more about individual members than it does about the site.

Let's keep it real, people, this place ain't perfect, the mods and admin are not infallible, but by and large I see very little reason to complain.

only thing that bugs me is not being able to post youtube vids, otherwise all is well here
