Just a thought......................... i have always wondered how other living "things" on earth perceive the earth, for example:

a flea on a dogs back - to him his "earth" environment is a large warm living "forrest" with "trees"

a bacteria- thriving and multiplying on a large scale on their "earth", living happily on a rotting apple.

a dust might with a whole mattress to explore to live and eat for their "earth"

is it the same for us?? i mean.....are we like a bacteria living on a rotten apple, or are we like existing on a single cell, and the universe is like the vein, and we're just getting pumped around the system??

if you can understand what im trying to say please feel free to comment, even if it is to say "lay off the drugs!!"

thanks for your time.

That's pretty much how I've always thought of it. You could even go as far as saying we live on an electron that orbits around a nucleus of protons. Our solar system could just be a single atom, part of the molecule that we call our galaxy.

The two choices we have are something starting from nothing, or something existing infinitely. These are both paradoxes. The existence of everything is therefore a paradox. -daemonfoe

NO your not mad or alone on this I have often tried to ponder the scale of things from the views of other smaller life. Then I saw the below picture of 3 smoke stacks in space that are apparently incubators for the matter that helps create stars & discovered the tallest one was 4 LIGHT YEARS TALL !!!!!!! Try & think about that, you cant it's impossible we have no frame of reference for something that big. It did help me with a little insight into how a minute insect observes it surrounding on Earth because it made me feel so small it was unbelievable, then again I feel that way when I look at the sky at night

I have now stopped trying to comprehend such things as I think we aren't supposed to know, it really hurt my head trying to grasp it all.

If you've ever wondered about insects & how clever they are peep this video -

If you think the universe as a whole, a living entity, and we are a part of that.... just one small particle, atom if you like.

The human body needs it's dna and micro organisms to survive,We could be just that..... a micro organism.

In other words we are a small cellular structure that is part of the genetic make up, of the entire universe.

And for the universe to expand and re new, then we.. just like normal living things, must die to make way for the regeneration of the new.

As a complete person, we are just a small part of the universe.

We may be parasitic, we may even be needed, to ensure the biological chain of the universe is not broken.

All things are connected for a reason.Just like the bee, we need it to keep the chain moving, we need it for growth and pollination.

We could just as easily be a completley insignificant speck, stuck on a rock, in the midst of a vast and expanding unverse, no purpose and no meaning to us.

We seem so meaningless compared to the vastness of the universe............but at the same time we are a important part of it. Even in death our energy and atoms are recycled.

Kurious, that photo from hubble changed a lot of people's life. Those who understood the reality of such a massive gas cloud dubbed the "star nursery" never looked at the universe the same way again. The photo alone has insured we will always have funding for space based telescopes.

Makes me wonder if I'm still a psychopath for claiming all things are equal, equally important or equally unimportant. Perhaps the "fantasy-land" crowd lives in the same land as our "factual-land" friends. Perhaps some of us are so busy shoving information in our heads they haven't taken the time to internalize what they actually believe. Then again, maybe I'm just crazy and humans are the all-knowing pinnacle and the centre of the universe.

Haha, what a riot.

Man if we are the pinnacle of the universe.........then the universe is in big trouble.

Interesting post. Most species are instinctive and just do what's naturally fitting for them, and are comfortable in their environment. We are supposed to be the higher life form, and I use the word supposed for a reason. All of life on earth lives in harmony with the earth, except us. We are nothing compared to the infinite of the vastness of space. Yeah we are smart, probably too smart for our own good, but we are a link in the chain and we are rusting. If you can, imagine an earth without humans. It would flourish. Nothing to destroy it's rain forests, oceans etc. Now don't get me wrong we have plenty of good to offer, unfortunately as a collective we have forsaken mother earth, where all other life has not. They see it as a home, we see it as territorrial and as a conquest
