Sometimes I think their "handlers'' and record company execs and stuff lead them to portray something because it is underground mainstream...............Know what I mean? Alternative and conspiracy mindedness has become a good market of late...........

Is she indeed what she represents, or just representing?

Ive bene in creative meetings where the music managers are jus tsitting around concepts for their artists designs, and 99% of the time THEy dont even know the meanings of the images they are telling us designers to use...so ive always known from an insiders perspective that its nothing more than eye candy, tinged with a touch of the mysterious.

Matter of fact, the "ART" of covers was much more advanced in the early 70s through the early 80s when it was the IMAGE that sold the album, and not the music since most stuff never made it to air or any public play, so the image WAS the band...and hence became the background message, even when it had nothing to do with the artists words or lyrics..

absolutely right you guys, marketing..although these campaigns are a bit more sophisticated in the sense that there is probably a little more research going into the symbols themselves, so they know how to apply them, rather than knowing how to support what the symbols mean.

Artsts like here are just little girls from the hood, with powerhouse management and marketing, and not a LICK of philosophical foresight...

Kaneta, great post, i know that it was a bit of work putting it together, and there were updates since my last post on it, so all good.

The guy that runs that site, LOVES to make connections that arent really there, or are tenuous at best, although i think the thought process is interesting, if not a little off base in its aim.
