GE CEO & Obama ‘Jobs Czar’ Jeffery Immelt Sympathizes With Occupy Protesters
Sympathy from public figures for the Occupy Wherever protests continues to grow. Now you can add Jeffery Immelt, General Electric CEO who some call Obama’s “jobs czar”, to that list.
“Unemployment is 9.1 percent. Underemployment is much higher than that, particularly among young people that don’t have a college degree,” he told Reuters in an interview Monday. “It is natural to assume that people are angry, and I think we have to be empathetic and understand that people are not feeling great.”
Immelt, who heads Obama’s jobs council and has been tasked with boosting employment numbers, continued: “The discrepancy [between CEO pay and the rest of American] is certainly one of the problems today in terms of why people feel the system is unfair.”
And maybe he’s speaking from experience. Consider that he “received $15.2 million in compensation last year.”
Still, don’t expect him to take a hit in his paycheck to make things “fair.” He reasons that away by saying, “If CEO pay goes way down and unemployment is 12 percent, people are still going to feel bad.”
“It is a symptom but it is not the problem,” he concluded.
The point is not so much that he is apparently failing as a jobs czar or that he is a wealthy man bemoaning income discrepancy. It’s that he and the administration he works with are both in a position to do something about said high unemployment numbers but instead resort to symbolic rhetoric and pointing fingers.
At one point in the Reuters interview, Immelt shits blame from the administration’s policies and instead accuses U.S. businesses of “not trying that hard” on exports (something he believes that, if boosted, could help “tackle the stubbornly high unemployment”).

CAIR Joins Occupy Wall Street, Will Hold Friday Prayers in Zuccotti Park
Dear friends,CAIR-NY is proud to support and invite you to Friday Prayer at Occupy Wall Street this Friday, October 21st, where we will join in solidarity with “the 99%.” Jummah, hosted by Majlis Ash-Shura (Islamic Leadership Council of New York) is scheduled for 1pm at Zuccotti Park. A sermon on social justice in Islam will be delivered by Imam Aiyub Abdul Baki.
CAIR-NY’s endorsement of Friday Prayer at Occupy Wall Street stems from a conviction that many of the issues brought into the international spotlight by Occupy Wall Street affect Muslim communities disproportionately, and it is up to us to stand up for our rights and show the world what democracy and peaceful protest look like. Look for our table at Zuccotti Park to obtain information about our current projects and to expand the role of New York Muslims in the Occupy Wall Street movement.
WHAT: Friday Prayer at Occupy Wall Street
WHEN: Friday, October 21st, at 1:00-3:30pm

Wall Street Firms Spy on Protestors in Tax-Funded Center
Wall Street’s audacity to corrupt knows no bounds and the cooptation of government by the 1 per cent knows no limits. How else to explain $150 million of taxpayer money going to equip a government facility in lower Manhattan where Wall Street firms, serially charged with corruption, get to sit alongside the New York Police Department and spy on law abiding citizens.
..........
The surveillance plan became known as the Lower Manhattan Security Initiative and the facility was eventually dubbed the Lower Manhattan Security Coordination Center. It operates round-the-clock. Under the imprimatur of the largest police department in the United States, 2,000 private spy cameras owned by Wall Street firms, together with approximately 1,000 more owned by the NYPD, are relaying live video feeds of people on the streets in lower Manhattan to the center.
...................
The project has been funded by New York City taxpayers as well as all U.S. taxpayers through grants from the Federal Department of Homeland Security. On March 26, 2009, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) wrote a letter to Commissioner Kelly, noting that even though the system involves “massive expenditures of public money, there have been no public hearings about any aspect of the system
.......................
One puzzle has at least been solved. Wall Street’s criminals have not been indicted or sent to jail because they have effectively become the police.

As any modern activist knows, ideas spread quickly and exponentially. Fertile minds are hard to find, but the sheer numbers participating in and paying attention to the Occupy Movement are promising. The Anti-State works in the arena of ideas, teaching people TO think, rather than WHAT to think. OWS is an opportunity not to be missed, and it’s probably spread to a city near you. Get out there. Pour some gas on the fire.
Liberty On Tour
According to their website, their advocacy goals are three-fold: “self-government, personal responsibility and consensual interactions.” Sounds harmless until you learn about how their support of Occupy Wall Street’s anti-corporate message is rooted in anti-state anarchist philosophy:
[OWS protesters] are already disillusioned with the Statist Quo. They know things are messed-up. But many (- not all!) focus their attention on berating corporations and banks. …
If you’re following the Occupy Wall Street developments you understand the protest and its potential. You know that almost without exception those on the ground are driven by noble intentions, to live in a freer, more prosperous world. Through video, communicate to them how that is best achieved.

Donations To Occupy Wall Street Are Now ‘Tax Deductible’

It is the mission of the Alliance for Global Justice to achieve social change and economic justice by helping to build a stronger more unified grassroots movement.
The Alliance nurtures organizations seeking fundamental change in international and national conditions that disempower people, create disparities in access to wealth and power, poison the earth, and plunder its resources.

So what does the Alliance for Global Justice do for Occupy Wall Street (OWS)? Essentially we collect and process their donations and pass the money on to them as a project of the AfGJ. In IRS parlance we take “responsibility for all financial and programmatic matters” of OWS. We are responsible to include their financial reporting as part of our own when we file our annual tax return, which for non-profits is called a form 990. We are accountable legally and financially to prove that all expenditures by OWS are within the IRS’s tax-exempt rules. If the IRS audits us, we will have to show supporting evidence of the numbers we report. Occupy Wall Street’s obligation to us is to provide the accounting and receipts we’ll need for the IRS and to not jeopardize our tax-exempt status through any actions of theirs.
The Alliance for Global Justice has received grants from George Soros’ philanthropy, the Open Society Institute ($100,000 since 2004), and from the left-wing, money launderers of the Tides Foundation ($60,000 since 2004) that allows high-profile donors to give secretly to radical causes.

I punched myself in the face so hard.
Bill Maher is a shill, his writers are fucks, and why the fuck would you listen to such bigoted nonsense?
"the problem is the rich stopped paying taxes" no the problem is our elected officials take bribes and fail at their jobs. Our system was changed in design to let people get away with it.
OWS see's nothing in this.

If you think Bill is a shill then you are either misinformed or willfully uninformed (republican). The "job creators" after tax income has outpaced the workers income unlike any other time in recent history.
Working harder is no longer a solution.
I would encourage you to watch more than 15 seconds of a video before slamming it.
