LOST AT SEA
by IndigoZoom1 on Jan 31, 2011
At the end of 2006 two Australian men were scuba diving at Pimpernell Rock, 8kms off the East Coast. Ascending to the surface the men discovered the anchor rope to their boat had snapped.
Surfacing they had no other option but to dump their scuba gear and attempt to swim to shore.
Amazingly one of the men, Peter Trayhurn, took photographs using his underwater camera throughout this desperate survival situation.
Peter Trayhurn and Geoff Tosio were interviewed from Sydney, Australia by Anne Curry on NBC NEWS Today Show at the end of 2010
This is Peter Trayhurns story.
A sincere thank you to Peter Trayhurn for his time, patience and passion throughout the shoot. As the day progressed Peter shrugged off tiredness to assist any way possible in addition to sharing a very personal insight into that life-changing day almost four years ago. A subtle reflection of his true spirit and generosity.
You can read the latest about Peter's ongoing battle with bowel cancer via his blog;
Thank you also to (retired) Captain Peter Rietdijk for his time and beautifully spoken words, it was a real pleasure meeting him & his wife after tracking them down all those hours north of Sydney.
