lots of helicopters in my area

just had two Apache longbows fly over a Chinook and two Merlin's and lynx ,,there are no military exercises ongoing in this area and they are not flying on a transit air corridor ,they direction of flight is towards Gloucester,could be for fairford air tattoo ,but its a odd flight path

i seem to get the matt black ones here, no other markings, last month i had another midnight episode with one of them, 12.30am i went to put some food out for the foxes when i heard one right over my house, i was about to look up at it when i noticed a policeman appear form nowhere at my front gate, he then spoke and said that there was a burglar on the prowl!! Yeah right, 2 things that made think otheriwse 1] policemen here don't go out looking for burglars on their own much less in the dark 2] police helicopters around here have a yellow band the one i saw didn't.

Yes fighter jets going over my way too yesterday, lots of air activity going on, i would say there getting ready for the Olympics.

I too have been having helicopters in the middle of the night over my house, two nights in a row about a month ago. Its scaring my partner, because im on hear.

Can't help you here Fleck, haven't seen the SKY for three day's now, let alone anything in it. Just a total coverage of slate grey clouds and loads and loads of rain!

Maybe keep a diary, then we can compare notes.....
I always thought it was illegal for military helicopters etc to fly over a residential area after a certain time of night ?

Lucky here yesterday i had sunshine all day...very rare these days, back to normal grey today, i think we had our summer back in Feb/March, because looking at the long range forecasts there is no let up......rain, rain and more poxy rain.... :bang;

Hi Fleck I had 6 fighter jets fly over me yesterday, and 2 Migs. 2 Lynxes, and 1 Chinook.. There is a lot of Air activity as i speak above the clouds. I live in Newbury Berkshire.
