Love has many meanings. Mother's love, the love to the partner who shares our joys and grieves, the love to our children, of the son for his mother, but beyond the family, there is love of books, of music, of nature. You can feel love for a flower as for a people, for your country.
Love is that feeling of wanting to seize, to hold against one's breast, to protect, to support; the desire to be together, or to return to the old home, the neighborhood where we grew up.
How should i love you? Let me count the ways, wrote the poet. Love has as many forms as lovers. Poets, who have sensitivity in every pore, have written numberless praises to love, to its glories and its miseries.
Love betrayed. There is no more poignant hurt than betrayal.
Love has no boundaries; not only that, as it spreads love multiplies, becomes stronger.
And then, there is the love of God, the feeling of gratitude for having given us this life, the hope of being able to understand a little better why are we here, why was the universe created, why time exists and why life must end with death.
Let us found our thoughts on love. The religious thanks God every time he wakes up, every time he crosses a door, every time he eats something. All day long he blesses God and feels secure under his protection.
We, no matter what our religious belief is, or none, we still have the certainty that love brings us closer to that invisible reality, immaterial yet inevitable as day follows night, and from the cold of winter we go to summer's warmth.
Love disperses the shadows of life.
