Peru's inexplicable stone forest

A stone forest of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures carved out of stone, some of them as big as 90 feet long, scattered in an area of about 3 sq. km.

Among the mos identifiable figures we find...

* The Monument of Humanity (Peca Gasha)
* The Fortress
* Inferno
* The Prophet
* The Alchemist
* The Tortoise
* The Face of Mars
* The Sphinx

Ever Been to Markawasi?..

The most famous is Peca Gasha, Quechua word which means "witch", "sentinel" or "guardian".

For some it's known as the "Head of the Inca", Daniel Ruzo called it instead "Monument of Humanity".
Most of them can only be seen from a particular angle and even particular lighting conditions.

La Fortaleza (fort) it's located at the southern end of the plateau, remains of buildings and chullpas (tombs) that are not part of the Inca civilization, but of a much earlier period in history, before the Deluge.

It shows peoples of many different races and animals found not only in the vicinity but from other continents as well.
It brings the idea of both, a very ancient high civilization and global contact among cultures, a concept that challenges the very beginning of mankind and the world around us as we know it.

Somebody placed it in the realm of forbidden archaeology.

It's also famous for its UFOs sightings, an energy-filled place capable of producing paranormal, spiritual, psychical, mind-altering experiences.
It's been called.."a natural laboratory for heightened perception".

Apparently, Markawasi discovery started with a dream, dreamed by Pedro Astete (1875-1940)in 1905, about a forgotten ancient culture called Masma.
His studies in prehistorical legend, myths and simbology led him to believe in occult treasures hidden somewhere in Peru.
He'd also found biblical references to the Masma civilization.

He later became associated with Peruvian explorer and philosopher Daniel Ruzo (1900 - 1993), who continued the same pursuit and lived in Markawasi area from 1952 to 1960.

Daniel Ruzo was the first to apply the theory of the Masma culture as creator of the stone figures.
An ancient civilization dating back to the Deluge, some 6,500 years before our era.

So do consider a two day visit al least to Markawasi on your next trip to Peru, just a stone throw distance from Lima.
It's certainly not widely known as Cuzco and Machu Picchu or other jewels of the Inca civilization.

Not part of the Mochica culture that produced Sipan, some 2,000 years ago.
The mystery surrounding Markawasi it's placed way before that, so far away in time as to be regarded as the oldest civilization on Earth...
