There is a growing concern down here that the weather patterns are changing. People would like to believe that 'global warming' is responsible. They want to know what is happening, but are too busy to do any research, so they stick with the mainstream heard mentality. Blaming it on something rather that using the brain is often the easier option and it allows us to get on with our daily existence. When questioned about their take on weather change most are clueless, when asked about HAARP and if that could have anythig to do with it,most reply HUH?!? in the past broaching new topics was laughed at, people were ridiculed and they became outcasts. What i am finding is that many people these days are more open to new information. I believe this slow awakening is happening because people are seeing that there should be more to life than just the daily grind and daily ritualistic existence. They are time poor to do any research and are thirsting for new, logically presented information which they can feel a part of. Information that makes sense and that is NOT alarmist.
The new generation is not comfortable with traditional religious belief's, they don't trust their elected politicians, they know that there is often more to the story, and they are open to new ideas that make sense.
My take on all this unfortunate change down under is that it is not exclusive to downunder. The whole planet is being experimented on by our scientific communities, the military having large control for obvious reasons. When i was in France in December they recorded one of their coldest winters on record. Walking through one port city i noticed its sea water rise above the port walls and gently lapping onto the footpaths, no storm, no wind, the day was as calm as you could get. I asked several of the locals and they had never experienced anything like it before, they looked and took photo's.
So, let's take a look around the globe and see what is happening, but we must not only look at the unfortunate events, rather, we must look at all the good news stories as well. I believe that sometimes, the experiments go well and we dance in the streets never questioning the 'why'. If its good we don't question, when it goes bad we stop and we question looking for understanding, unfortunatley i believe that we then limit our observations to aprox 50%, this then means we only see half the picture.

Hi iwanci,

Do you have the social media down there, like facebook, my space etc. I assume you do, as you're here? lol
If so maybe you should link some of this, and see the response.

i live in melbourne,so we got some flooding, ive seen it before,st kilda and acland st underwater, weather is cyclic like the sun, moon anything, and we have only been here to observe for few hundred years,so we dont know what the longer cycles are,i dont think it was that unusual really,a summer storm, the weather is always erratic and changing, this is australia ,its a land of extremes,if you really want to know if its unusual then ask the elder aboriginals somewhere here and they will know the most,p.s by the way, this place is the garden of eden and its the coolest best place on earth hands down, weve got the oldest living race of people here, who were around way way before any of that bible shit, like 40-60000 years older, and still linked to that past, the rainbow dreaming time,so next time you hear some brain dead wacko crapping on about the essene from the dead sea, have a think about the tribes of gondwana, you need to be smart to survive in this climate and country, especially for 60,000 years!!!.

I live in Brisbane roughly 2000klm north of Melbourne and we have had a week of flooding rains, as stated by other Aussies it is a land of extremes and we have had years of droughts and now its time for the floods to me it doesnt seem any different to when I was a kid. The storms and floods are said to be bigger than that on record but we only have a couple of hundred years of these. As other places on the planet are going through extremes at the moment I leave my mind open to mankinds damage to earth or even weather manipulation.

Summer storms are not unusual here in Australia, nor unusual here in Melbourne. I too have seen flooding in St Kilda and elsewhere. The point here though is that the type of storm that hit Melboune and the ice it brought with it is extremely unusual for Melbourne, i doubt it has ever occured in Winter let alone end of summer.

We do live on a great land down here, full of contrasts especially in Melbourne where we often get 4 seasons on the same day. Things are changing however, intensity and extremity of weather are a reality more so these days than ever before in recorded history.

With regards to 'known' history, we can only truly make comparisons against recorded information. Hearsay, legends, myths etc have some basis for past occurances, keeping in mind however that they have usually been accounted for by often uneducated peoples with little if any understanding of anything technical or scientific, we can only use this material as a 'gap' filler at best to try and help us join the dots in our research. I have no doubt that weather patterns are cyclical, the cycles since records began are probably too short and far between to paint a truly acurate picture of what is actually occuring. I believe there are short cycles occuring each year or every 10 years, and longer cycles occurring every 100 years or 1000 years or 10,000 years etc. All we have to go on however is recorded information that only really accounts for the shorter cyclical changes. It is well documented that the natives of our lands (Australia, America, Africa, Asia etc) were travellers, they would generally follow the seasons, moving towards the water catchments during hot sesons and away from them during rainy sesons, in many aspects they would follow the native animals on which they depended for food, they adapted to mother nature through necesity and hence learned to live with nature. When the water holes ran dry they would move on to the next and so forth eventually making their way back to the original catchments as the seasons would replenish them. What we modern day humans tend to do is sit still and drain every resource then look up at the sky and pray for rain, we do not follow the seasons and as such have distanced ourselves from nature. In addition to this the population that relies on the water supply and the use we put the water to has also dramatically risen. How many places in Australia are experiencing drought and how many places in Australia are currently flooded at the same time? Water shortage and water oversupply at the same time = solution? Build more catchments where water is falling. Problem = money and time to build the infrastructure.

It is facinating however to be living in a period of change (whether cyclical, man made or otherwise), and we should sit back and absorb what is occuring, look at the causes and rectify or adapt to what we can.
