Firefighters in Colorado have battled the odds in trying to contain a blaze that has burned uncontrolled across 100 square miles of forest -- encountering precarious winds, heat and fatigue.
On Wednesday, they contended with a new force: meteors.

..."People heard a boom; they saw things flying through the air, things like that," he said. "The local fire chief went looking for smoke to see if the impacts started another fire. That’s the last thing we need."

I recall hearing something a while back, maybe on C2C, where someone was doing 2012 predictions. I clearly remember one of the predictions being massive wildfires in the US, one of which would possible involve a meteor or started by a meteor impact. I don't remember enough information to locate this. I have dug all afternoon looking for a reference to this. I am almost certain it was an interview on C2C. Older woman, foreign accent... I wish I knew more. Anybody else have any clue what I'm talking about? I would love to know if someone had a hit on this.
