But the scripture IS to blame. If you really dig into the Qur'an you will find that amongst the numerous verses calling for mercy for the downtrodden, there are verses calling for the death and the destruction of non-believers. It is the ayat which validated the raids that Muhammad led 1400 years ago, and it is these same ayat which encouraged spreading the Islamic empire from Morocco to China. Sunnis love to gloss over this and claim that Islam was not spread by the sword using countries like Indonesia as an example, but the Iranians (Persians) and the Indians NEVER forgot their real history and the Shi'ite and Hindu scholars tell it like it is.

Hell - let's all sulk and sit complacent while every marginal Islamic nation acquires nukes. Lord knows they deserve them because B.C. jews used to stone people too. Because the pope was a bad guy a thousand years ago.

Or those EVIL crusaders tried to keep an open path for religious pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Thats not what I mean at all and you know it Spock. Come on man lets keep it rational here.
My point is simply the scripture is not telling these people to act this way.
Its their own indoctrinated, manipulated primitive selves who are (mis)led by apostates who are furthering political and/or monetary goals.

In short: Man is to blame, not scripture.

I like your point. But i do disagree with it to an extent. Sorry for "being cool".

I would say man and power and greed can be used to distort any teaching though.

Ok, it doesn't get more authentic than this book (and fortunately, it's in English). This is the #1 endorsed book on basic Islamic history by the scholars at the university in Medina. Highly recommended. :flop:

That would mean that hindu's jews and christians are acting in the same violent way? Maybe 200 years ago , but now?

I get where youre coming from but it isnt as easy as that. A lot of factors / variables involved.
The stick gets passed around, so to say (imo). 'Zwaretepiet', we call it in Holland.
Better believe 'the powers that be' are engineering the hell out of this polarising 'hype'.
Ill bet a large percentage of the socalled 'íslamic extremists' are funded, at the end of the day, by black ops / government cash. Keep the synthetic terror ploy alive.

Mind you, the percentage real hatefilled misled 'muslims' wont be any lower since we
started the 20th century crusades in the Iraqi/ Afghani region. Thats doing us a lot of good..
Fallujah and what not.. Peace through war.. Right.

These people just want humane living conditions and education just like you and me. Now Im not that naive to think everything can be covered with a pink blanket, but it generally does come down to that. Removing the feeding ground of extremism c.q. ignorance + bad livingconditions. Fighting fire with fire doesnt do you any good.

As you are telling me about all this apparant unbecoming content in the Qur'an I was hoping you'd provide me, like the sura, with an exact reference / quote.

I think you are honestly trying to be open-minded.. So I am going to tell you, honestly, that if you want to know a completely unbiased answer, go to the sources yourself. Plenty of people have already done the work you are asking me to do for you, and you will find many of their efforts are available for free in the public library.

i agree with this statement very much.

sorry if this discredits what i just said but i think savage is a blowhard moron. anyone who pits one religion against another (ie. christianity > islam) is either willfully ignorant or really, really dumb.
