Milit activity .UPDATE.again

I finally decided to post this here, local info.

It's been increasingly odd here. With extra military flight activity.
There are bases not too far away, so we are familiar with their normal patterns.
Lately that has changed. With helicopter's flying towards very remote areas, and much lower altitudes, (try 50ft).

Last night, was very unusual though. I live just north of a small town, and around 10:30pm last night, there was a C-140 circling over the town for over 25 minutes. I had an excellent view from my porch. When it finally turned away from this circle pattern, there was a vertical streak in the sky, like a meteor, going straight downwards, from my vantage point. Then, the C-140 returned, made 2 more circles, then left in a direction straight to Cannon AFB. (New Mexico)

Maybe just coincidence, and nothing to it, but I thought I'ld share here. None of this is normal for this area.

Its more than likely summer training for the air national guard or they are getting ready for deployment sometime soon. just my opinion but, who knows. it is wierd times we are living in.

Makes you think, that something serious is afoot.Big pow wow, going down.

We've had serious problems with irresponsible helicopter pilots, mostly police and some military, for ~ 5 or 6 years in NW Florida. These people have been known to buzz (harass) civilians, looking into windows of houses and flying so low over rooftops as to vibrate entire houses. Pure irresponsible trash. So far, they have not (yet) killed anyone.

Lately, we've been having police in full black out camo trespassing on farms and homesteads (on foot) looking for drugs (or perhaps something else). Several of our residents have had encounters with these "ninjas". Seriously bad scene.

I can't imagine how bad this behavior will get as this government continues to pump dollars and power into police and military "authorities". We don't need protection from Arab "terrorists", we need protection from this government.

US, S. Korea to hold joint military drills

The United States and South Korea are set to hold a joint military exercise next month amid mounting tension in the Korean peninsula.

A US military statement said on Friday that the exercise will involve "10,000 US soldiers and an unspecified number" of South Korean troops.

The 10-day long maneuver is scheduled to take place on August 17-27.

US military sources noted that the drill also involves "computer-simulated war games designed to improve the allies' ability" to defend the South from any possible attack in the volatile region.

Kim Yong-kyu, a US Forces Korea (USFK) spokesman told reporters that North Korea was "notified this morning of the August exercises."

Pyongyang regularly denounces such exercises as preparations for a US invasion of North Korea.

Tension increased on the peninsula after the North conducted its second nuclear test in May.

Pyongyang insists that its nuclear program is a deterrent against US forces in the region and accuses US President Barack Obama of plotting with regional allies to topple the communist regime.

Just in case someone protests Marduk's "signage," we're an active duty military family and also think that it's LOL funny (and might just represent a wee bit of reality ...).
