What pillars? What people?

All I see are digital artifacts, not human ones. I think it's just bad stitching of the images.

See the dots with the shadows. This is what he is talking about.

To me this is hard to tell because of the lack of quality in the picture. It looks interesting enough, but hard to tell if this is just photoshop or something more like you say.

I am not knocking your post, I just personally can't tell much from the image.

OK, if you look at this shot, you can clearly see the outline of a rectangular image that has been stitched in but with a slight shift out of registration with the other images.

You have to understand that these images are stitched together from many small images and they are never perfectly overlaid.

They have image-processing that helps make the images appear smooth but there are always funny little distortions when you look close at or near the seams. This is called "noise".
The pixelation and distortion can appear to be something else.
