(CBS News) Updated at 7:30 a.m. Eastern.
The U.S. Marine Corps has vowed a full investigation into video posted online which purportedly shows Marines urinating on the dead bodies of Taliban militants in Afghanistan.
CBS News national security correspondent David Martin says if it turns out to be authentic, those involved could face court martial proceedings for violating U.S. military rules which specifically forbid "photographing or filming... human casualties" - regardless of whether the Americans were actually urinating.
Martin says the U.S. military has told CBS News the Marines seen in the video are no longer in Afghanistan, raising a question about how old the clip may be.
Regardless, the Pentagon is extremely worried about what reaction might be. The hope, Martin tells "CBS This Morning" co-anchor Charlie Rose, is that the Taliban's own unpopularity in Afghanistan will lead many in the country to see the video as an insult to the radical Islamic group, rather than to Afghan culture or Islam.
Now if this wasn't bad enough, I opened a thread about this...it was locked.
If ever there was a thread that us adults should discuss, it was this one...

I guess DTV would prefer you get your news from somewhere else. Very self defeating I think.

I'll drop it if need be.
The thing is certain people here get away with murder and not get banned.
Abuse of the members should not be tolerated, not what subjects we choose to talk about.
You could just let the let the thread go, I get your concern (really) but I agree with Will.
It's probably not the most vital thing in the world for this topic to be discussed here, but disallowing it entirely as a precaution seems drastic.

The post is in the correct area

It is actual news and not a hoax by Will
It is being blasted all over the world with out DTVs help.
I see nothing wrong with this post or the other one that was locked.
True information should not be restricted in any way.
Nothing Will has written is bashing the American Armed forces.
They did a good enough job of that in the video.
War is a funny place and people do funny things a lot worst than pissing on some dead guys.
If DTV has a forum section News & World Events, it should be able to let it run with no censorship as long as there is no bashing or foul language, which I see none from Will.
Plus he is a vet and I imagine this frustrates him more than us. The soldiers have a tough enough time as it is with out videos like this. It is only a handful of bad boys but the rest of them now have to pay the price.
Unfortunately, World News is World News.

All I have to say is I was gonna post this article and video too. I AM A 6 YEAR VETERAN OF THE ARMED FORCES, and feel I have a right to blog about Marine conduct. I did not piss on any dead bodies while I was in the Army, and I find this disturbing.
Marines pissing on dead bodies is digusting, and I think any US citizen (who's taxes pay Marines salary) has a right to thread about this.
AS A US CITIZEN THE MILITARY WORKS FOR YOU, FUNDED BY TAX PAYERS. IF YOUR TAX MONEY IS PAYING MARINES (IF THATS WHAT YOU WANNA CALL THEM) TO PISS ON DEAD CORPSES YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE CRITICAL.
HATE TO SAY IT MODERATORS, BUT YOU DO NOT RUN THE ARMED FORCES OR THEIR PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT!
I thought this site was informing the masses on corruption and abuse of power!

Thanks Deuem.
In dlslith's defense, may I add everyone makes mistakes.
