More Evidence of War In Our Solar System

The possibility of a nuclear war in the distant past cannot be ruled out, though doubts exist. If such weapons were used, what about the radiation? What was the effect on the atmosphere and, given that it takes quite some time for Nature to recuperate, how come we're not witnessing the harmful effects of such a radiation. And where did the knowledge get lost, why wasn't it preserved?
Mahabharata is the sacred epic here and the heroes of that war are worshipped like Gods. The weapons they used are called as 'Astras' and the dramatizations of this epic shows the warrior invoking divine powers into his arrow to convert it into an astra. When unleashed, it causes the maximum destruction, something matched only by a nuclear explosion--so there could be some truth in that theory. Need someone to dig into it and look at our epics from a researcher's point of view.
Also heard that in those days, Australia was known as 'Astralaya' (astra + alaya---home of the astras). The warriors used this isolated island as the testing ground of their astras, and hence the radiation in that place was so intense that it resulted in the evolution(mutation) of some of the unusual creatures that you don't find anywhere else in the world.

I've heard of these vitrified walls before. A nice summary of where they can be found is on here....
http://brigantesnation.com/VitrifiedFor ... lforts.htm
It's a bit of a stretch to say that only a nuclear blast could vitrify the stone. Granite and similar igneous rocks like gneiss and basalt will melt around 1000-1250 degrees celsius, and biotite micas around 850 degrees celsius. It is known that people at the time of many, if not all of these forts had the capability to melt iron, and certainly bronze. Iron melts at 1535 and bronze at around 950 degrees C, so it is not beyond their abilities to create the necessary temperatures. Most scholars seem to think that the stones were deliberately vitrified in order to increase the strength of the fortifications.

I find this thread fascinating but where would you begin to research, I would love to know more?
SA's 2-million-year-old find

Royal artefacts found in KZN
Skeletons unearthed at V&A
Rock art in a hard place
Proof that man is 'Out-of-Africa'
I forgot I read this recently does this link up with spheres?
Johannesburg - A group of local and international archaeologists has discovered artefacts said to be two million years old inside a Northern Cape cave, the SABC reported.
The archaeologists from Canada, South Africa and Israel said it had taken more than 50 years to make the breakthrough inside the Wonderwerk cave outside Kuruman.
They have found 30 artefacts.
The team says the cave itself bears testimony to what has been described as the home to the origin of human culture.
