Mysterious Sound of the Apocalypse Heard Around Costa Rica

Costa Ricans woke with fear this morning all freaked out about a sound that was heard all over the country around mid-nite.

Is it the mysterious sound of the so-called coming Apocalypse? Some think that the mysterious sound heard in Costa Rica at around 12:30am this morning is exactly that.

Ronny Quintero, a seismologist said the event should be studied at the exact time and location of the anomalies to determine with certainty that there was no earthquake. He added that depending on the location of those who claim they heard the rumble or ”The Hum” it is easy to dismiss the possibility of tectonic movements.

This news has rattled the social web whereas Costa Ricans and the world over are scrambling to figure out what this mysterious sound could have been. Authorities have yet to comment on the subject although OVSICORI, the Costa Rica Volcanologist and Seismologist Organization is saying there is no Earth movements recorded at the time of the strange sound.

Here is a YouTube video showing how it sounded. The second video was filmed in Kiev, Ukraine where the sound has also appeared.

It is important to note that this is not the wind nor was it filmed anywhere near the ocean. The sound was heard throughout the entire country from Heredia to Perez Zeledon.

I am almost certain the noise in the Kiev vid is from local construction. I'd wager it was filmed as a 'noise complaint' to be used as evidence, perhaps to withhold rent or gain 'disturbance compensation'.

Down down the rabbit hole we go...

In the last couple of hours, since first reading the OP, I find myself in almost awe of this sound. Not only because of it's ominous feeling, but because it is being reported from across the globe.

After viewing the first video, I decided to dig a bit deeper on Youtube. The results thus far are unbelievable, considering that all the reports of this/these sound(s), which again have global reach, land very specifically within a two month span. Further digging should reveal whether this is when the sounds merely began and new reports are being uploaded to YouTube, or whether they ceased for some time until this latest occurance.

I have compiled this list of videos, complete with descriptions and comments to be noted. I'm sure you will agree that this phenomenon is worthy of an open-minded investigation as you watch through these intriguing videos. Enjoy.

This video comes from Virgina and is reported to have happened before the August 23 Earthquake. There are little other details available on YouTube as to the time and exact location the video was shot. The sound in this video is very large like in the others, but this one is more distinct in it's sound; it is not a rumble, but more of a high pitched whoosh:

What is interesting to note, is that the Ministry of Environment is investigating and has brought equipment in. Haven't found word on a report being issued yet.

But when you've got more than 250 official complaints registered with the Ministry of the Environment, and Facebook websites are springing up to track the noise, there's clearly something going on. So why can't anybody figure it out?

It was months ago when folks first started talking about the strange sounds and pulsing sensations that seemed to be emanating from beneath homes all across Windsor and Essex County.

One woman said it felt like being underground in Union Station, with trains passing overhead. The house would vibrate. The windows would rattle. It left her feeling unsteady on her feet and made her ears hum.

Someone suggested she might be suffering from tinnitus. Others thought she was crazy, until the neighbours admitted to hearing and feeling the same thing. Everybody who's experienced the rumblings has a similar description. The reports are strikingly consistent.

"I'd compare it to a fleet of diesel trucks idling next to your home," said west-ender Gary Grosse, who started one of the websites to log vibration times and share experiences. "I've learned it's a wide range of ages affected. And that people are experiencing the same symptoms - rattling windows, headaches, nausea. Even animals are being affected," he said "It's not something with the inner ear. It's definitely something real."

Real, yes. But pinpointing what, exactly, is causing the rumbling has turned out to be frustrating. MoE has ruled out all the usual suspects, like explosions at the salt mines, Zug Island, lake freighters and planes arriving and departing from Detroit's Metro Airport. We're not surprised by that assessment, since the rumblings are recent. All those enterprises have been around for years, so why would the vibrations start now?

Some firmly believe the influx of wind turbines is to blame, and while a company spokesman has refuted that possibility, it's worth further investigation. Those turbines are relatively new to Essex County. Did their arrival coincide with the vibrations, or is it just a coincidence?

MoE didn't deal with that issue when it suspended its investigation in May. "Our priority was to determine if an industrial source was causing the vibrations," said Teri Gilbert, issues project co-ordinator at the ministry's local office. "It doesn't seem the source is an industrial one."

Residents were angry with that response, and rightly so. Knowing what it wasn't didn't solve the problem. They were no closer to finding out what was causing the disturbance, and they wanted the ministry to dig deeper.

Natural Resources Canada stepped in and provided four seismic monitors to place at strategic locations throughout the city. Three of them are still at work collecting data, and it's hoped they'll finally solve the mystery.

It seems incredible that the answer still eludes investigators, considering all the technological advances at our fingertips. Since officials in Michigan and Ontario's Environment Ministry have both ruled out industry as the culprit, it's time to consider other sources, including those wind turbines.

Hopefully, the seismic readings will provide definitive results. But if they don't, the government can't just walk away. There has to be a reason for these sudden and disturbing rumblings, and residents need to know what it is."

As the uploader of the video states, there isn't too much that is audible before the 3:57 mark, and even then it is rather difficult to hear. And while it does still sound big, you will have to strain to hear anything.

The only reason I bring this video, is because it is almost guaranteed to not be special FX audio, because the audio isn't emphasized in any way. I'm sure some further analysis by one of our resident Audio Experts may shed some light on what we're hearing.

Pay attention to the 3:57 - 4:15 mark it seems you can hear it really well at that point. I don't know how well this can be heard but does anybody know what the hell this rumbling sound is??? No it's NOT thunder. It's something else entirely. I heard it this morning in Maryland about 20 minute ago to be exact. beautiful sky, no storm, no rain, no lightning. This rumbling is rhythmic, and louder then all the atmospheric noises and encompasses the entire sky yet it is subtle enough that I saw 3 people walk by and not one noticed. I have though seen videos on YT about people who have recorded it. Yes, I know my balcony is a mess, it was cleaning day lol

This video shot in Denmark has remarkably clear audio of the sound, but like the last video, it is further away and is somewhat difficult to hear. However, the sound is present throughout the entire video, and once again, sounds big.

Like the Maryland video above, it is not likely that this recording is the result of special FX, or one would assume it would be made purposely more evident.

Sounds like an exact mix of the one in Kiev and Costa Rica. This is obviously not man-made. Like when you hear trains de-coupling etc. You can target the source or direction at least of the noise. Even via digital recording it's obvious this is not coming from a central source. it's over a MASSIVE area. It's spiritual in nature. face the facts. End times now.

If any of these videos were to turn to be a hoax, it may be this one.

The sounds in this video are similar to the more trumpeting sounds of the upcoming videos, but the audio does not seem to come in for the first ten seconds or so of the video, and when it does, it seems almost too loud.

However, it still does strike the curiosity and is worth a watch.

On August 16th many residents in Taipei reported to local media strange sound and vibrations coming from under the streets. These sounds lasted for about 2 weeks. It was suggested by one Taipei 24 hour news channel that an expert for the DDP said it could be China drilling tunnels under Taiwan for an attack to take place in 2017 or 2021

Now something is being heard in Alberta Canada

Here is just a small collection of what I have come across. I was on Facebook last night and speaking with a couple of my friends. There were more than 50 people who posted about hearing this sound in Grande Cache, Alberta..

People posting that they and all their neighbors were on their porches listening... all the way down the streets. It sounds like the Earth is groaning. People posted that they were afraid to go to sleep..

These have all happened in the past month of January 2012.
