It was speculated that is what it was... dunno... best looking man made object floating above our atmosphere I have personally seen... oh yeah... those images... if you go to the actual FTP site (follow link) you will notice...they no longer exist...well...some do...but some...*gone*.

Now... while I *definitely* think that this stuff can happen and there is lots of cool stuff out there...

You need to listen to the *electric* motor they are using. It would be pretty much 100% silent to viewers on the ground. So, while I don't say this stuff is a hoax...I am just saying that people do pretty dumb things to get attention and it would be relatively *cheap* to have 2 or 3 guys out there at a distance from the viewers with high flying RC "planes"...or...if done right...

With an additional RC component to shut the high intensity IR light off when the battery runs low and it needs to land.

Night time isn't a hard one to prank someone with...because you don't have things like shadows or clear visual site to contend with as you might during the day:

All interesting stuff indeed...

Typically, if you are in the city you won't see a satellite... as it crosses the night sky due to the light noise. However, if you get any type of NV device...and look up some of the known satellite paths, you can sit out on a clear night and see pretty much the same thing as many of the videos show.

Electronics are becoming cheap and impressively complex... however things like night vision goggles of a high fidelity with a form of "zoom" capability...those are super expensive. In all reality, it would require someone with a good chunk of $$$$ to spend to really capture something that can't be questioned in one way, shape, or form... I don't like it either...because it just muddies the water so to speak... but unfortunately it is the way things are in today's day and age.

However, keep looking... there could be something worth the time... just a lot of "false positives" out there which brings more discredit to the real deal than anyone who is truly interested in this type of stuff might want.

All in all... I have run across what I would call "proof positive" enough for me to be satisfied knowing there are more than likely things out there that don't originate from any location on the surface of this planet constructed from our societies.

What the heck they are...and where they come from... not sure if anyone of us will know this answer...well...maybe in our lifetime depending upon how old you are!

Great vids Chronicnerd!!

Yeah I am leery of the rc factor..for me it has to do things in flight that are beyond the capability of conventional craft before I lose any sleep wondering over it. There are LOTS of things lit up in the night sky with NV..but there are a few that defy explanation..if you ask me NV is the way to go if you are looking to catch some good film..I gotta buy me some Starlight gear before it drops off the market :flop:
