Don't expect WINE to run every Windows program.

Many newbies have an adjustment period because Linux is not a windows clone (it's actually better). Frequently, it is much easier for newbies if they can get some help and instruction. Linux users groups are a great resource for this:

In the early 2000's, my former boyfriend, whom I am still friends with, was stationed in England as part of Naval Cryptology. Stationed in a place called Menwith Hill. This is...Big Brother. Illegal to spy on the U.S. while on U.S. soil, but not illegal to do so on foreign soil. He told me at that time to be careful what verbbage I used on the phone and internet as there were some key words that, at that time, would "flag" you for monitering. Obviously times have changed DRASTICALLY, however...the example that he gave me was the word, bomb. He said that it did not matter the context in which it was used and the common slang vernacular at that time, used by celebrities and tv characters was, "Dat's da BOMB." He told me that this was on purpose to get people to start using this in emails and over the telephone so that Echelon could increase the number of people that were being monitered. Sneaky, sneaky....
