Just prior to his appointment as President Obama’s so-called regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein wrote a lengthy academic paper suggesting the government should “infiltrate” social network websites, chat rooms and message boards.

Such “cognitive infiltration,” Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on “conspiracy theorizing.”

Among the beliefs Sunstein classified as a “conspiracy theory” is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.

The find comes as a government document reportedly relates the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s command center routinely monitors dozens of popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Hulu, WikiLeaks and news sites including the Huffington Post and Drudge Report.

Reuters reported that a “privacy compliance review” issued by DHS last November confirms that since at least June 2010, the department’s national operations center has been operating a “Social Networking/Media Capability” which involves regular monitoring of “publicly available online forums, blogs, public websites and message boards.”

The government document states such monitoring is meant to “collect information used in providing situational awareness and establishing a common operating picture” to help manage national or international emergency events.

While the DHS may be monitoring websites for security reasons, Sunstein advocated such actions with another goal in mind.

Sunstein’s official title is Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.

In a 2008 Harvard law paper, “Conspiracy Theories,” Sunstein and co-author Adrian Vermeule, a Harvard law professor, ask, “What can government do about conspiracy theories?”

“We can readily imagine a series of possible responses. (1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing. (2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories.”

In the 30-page paper – obtained and reviewed by KleinOnline – Sunstein argues the best government response to “conspiracy theories” is “cognitive infiltration of extremist groups.”

more than likely.

So in other words, they want to straight up ban freedom of thought speech and expression huh.
edit- and on that note, most of our conspiracies end up being true years later, or in general make more sense than the shit they are spoon feeding us that covers up the shit we expose.

Well, looks like its time to rally the troops up. :yell:

I am sure as the months go on (specially when we get to summer time) more and more will surface making paul the prime time choice unless you have a dream to be a zombie.

Even if he has some stuff about him that is not what people would like, there is no other candidate now, or recently, that wants to reduce the federal government and strengthen state governments.

If people are fed up with wars, or serve in the National Guard at all they shouldn't be voting for anyone but ron paul. We have been using our state militias to send to war for 10 years, and it needs to stop. All because this war no my fault, police action is un official, and all because this police action will make the pockets of congress fat.

Congress, that is also another problem the public need to re address, or restructure so that the judicial system can be involved in political actions. Due to the restrictions of what the judicial branch can interfere or over see through congress, there is always a burning loop hole for congress to jump through, or in our case, send our kids through.

Ultimately, we should dismiss our entire government and do what our founding fathers did and spend weeks, if not months into the development of a new system. A system that actually works as good for the strongest link as it does for the weakest link.

After all, the government tries to say we are the weakest link, but they cannot do shit, or accomplish anything with out our money, our effort, and our forged votes.

You can never truly ‘ban’ conspiracy theorising nor control social networks... these two have always and will always exist.. 2 people talking about politics or religion or aliens etc in a pub is a social network and what they are talking about is conspiracy... (unless factual).. the best they can do is make it difficult for people to congregate, filter the transfer of information, listen in on phone conversations, arrest people who do not conform and and and... :o

SHIT .. just realised..... it IS happening :nails:

R U N...... :ohno:

Hehehe.. wont happen...

But maybe it will..... :?:

Hmmmmm .. nah....

Ummmm... possible.... :headscratch:
