Barack Obama told the Hispanic Caucus in his speech that “Mexicans” were here in the southern US long before the United States was an idea.

Let me close by saying this. Long before America was even an idea, this land of plenty was home to many peoples. The British and French, the Dutch and Spanish, to Mexicans, to countless Indian tribes. We all shared the same land.

He was probably referring to the native Mexicans/non-mestizos.

Though even in that regard I'm not sure if that's entirely correct; admittedly though when you think about it the natives of Mexico and Native Americans are not different; yet a line is drawn for no reason. Aztecs and Mayans are also Native American.

A June 2002 Zogby poll of Mexicans found that a substantial majority of Mexican citizens believe that southwestern America is rightfully the territory of Mexico and that Mexicans do not need the permission of the U.S. to enter. The poll, a people search of appropriate persons, found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "The territory of the United States' southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Zogby said 28 percent disagreed, while another 14 percent said they weren't sure.

This type of "out of contexted" profiling is the type of thing that further divides the American people. As for the Mexican statment it's true they where here before columbus made his discovery. But what point was He trying to make by that truth? His deep islamic up bringing trained him to respect kings in a different way then Americans who some of which have no respect even for their own Presidents, having killed them in broad day light as a part of our undeniable history. I think that we seem more interested in covering up the truth then seeing ourself for what and who we really are, good or bad. As for our President being a Muslim, it's difficult to gather that from this edited and produced tape by someone that chose not to reveal themself and... that disected the statements in a very surgical way to make it appear the way they wanted it to appear, further strengthens the Presidents position. If you really had proof you could have and would have just presented it. Such out of your way editing only makes the fearful haters, hate more. I doubt that intelligent free thinkers are persuaded by these low blow tacticts against our majority and fairly elected President. I really have come to the conclusion that the Republicans are very sore loosers, and care more about revenge, on the winners then saving our country. This President has had more unfair negative attacts then any President ever, it has become completely ridiculous and is showing the true Americans to what lengths, some people will go, with little concern of it's outcome on our already deeply wounded country.

Anyone that dosen't believe the Mexicans were here before America is in denial, Remember the Alimo, with Dave Crocket, Wyatt Earp, and Daniel Boone, fighting to the death for Texas? Just who do you think they were fighting? Even though those hollywood characters weren't even alive during the same times dosen't really matter, even Columbus admitted that there were people here, the fact that the discoverers? Colonials?, hadn't given them a name, dosen't mean that they didn't exist. They were here. The question I have is, AND? All those people that jumped on this fact in denial or ignorance, whats your point? Did you think America was here and the Indians/Mexicans just some how appeared later and named California then invaded us and attacked us trying to take our land away? Some people need to get their head out of the ground and see the true facts about America the way everyone else does. Just because you want to denigh our history, and say what ever you want, dosen't change the facts. Now that you know that they were here first what will you do? Let them come back home? Go home yourself? and if so where is home for you? Or just admit that our President got one thing right in your mind? I'm sure nothing will happen, you'll just go back and try to dig up more dirt, as if this never happen. Mark my word, in a hundred years President Oboma will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents America ever had, and he will be a 2 term President, that fought his greatest battle amoung his own citizens, and if America had stood united during this great Presidents term, they would have succeeded! BUT, Divided they fell.
