Obama taking away student loans?

Has anyone heard about this? I remember reading about a part of the health care bill that talked about student loans. According to this Bill the idea is to take more than 60 billion dollars away from student loans and move it to Pell Grants. This is all fine and dandy, but the only way you can receive a pell grant in america is if you make less than 13,000 a year. If you dont, than the only other aid you can get is through scholarships. Meaning a majorty of college students like myself who received student loans will no longer be able to receive these loans. We have been cut out. Theobama administration is running on the theme of taking out the middle man (loan lenders) and giving the power directly to the federal government. Has anyone else heard anything similiar?
