Oliver Stone explains ‘the untold history of America’

Academy Award-winning Oliver Stone has teamed up with historian Peter Kuznick to produce a 10-part Showtime series called, "Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States." Drawing on archival findings and recently declassified documents, the filmmakers critically examine U.S. history -- from the atomic bombing of Japan, to the Cold War, to the fall of Communism, and continuing all the way through to the Obama administration. Contrary to what's taught in schools across the country, the filmmakers found the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were militarily unnecessary and morally indefensible.

Stone and Kuznick also suggest the Soviet Union, not the United States, ultimately defeated the Germans in World War II. And, they assert the United States, not the Soviet Union, bore the lion's share of responsibility for perpetuating the Cold War. The filmmakers also found U.S. presidents, especially in wartime, have frequently trampled on the Constitution and international law, and they note the United States has brought the world dangerously close to nuclear war by repeatedly brandishing nuclear threats. I been meaning to watch it. I think it's on Showtime.

This is very true.

From what I got from Oliver Stone over the years is a man in pursuit of the truth.

Most off us dont even bother to read our history. We are told and we believe without ever checking for ourselves.
Oliver Stone's perception of history is more believable then the MSM rose tinted agenda driven manipulation of the past, ie Japan surrendered before the nuclear bombs were dropped and not after as reported by MSM.

I never knew that. I seen it posted here before, but never knew it before that. I don't think that was on my history test at school.

Does not surprise me it is not taught at school, In the UK we dont get taught that either.

The reality is Japan offered to surrender before.

People like Oliver Stone with all the attention his name commands help's to educate the masses.
If one does not know his past how can he know where he is heading.
