The reason why people attempt to pull others into their way of thinking is simply down to safety in numbers:

Unless an individual has an inner understanding which needs no advertising, the rest shout and scream that they know their god, and the rest of you all had better join us, or else our god will cause great suffering to those who disobey.

They are afraid of the the thought of non existence. They seek solice in religious texts, but that is not sufficient for them they have to grab the attention of the rest of us.

They need to tell us that their god is so all-powerful, but don't dare call their god names!

If you do, they shall defend their god, although their god is very powerful, it seems that gods get upset when names are called.

There are hundreds of examples in the bible where warnings are given as to worshipping other gods etc. There are even warnings about bowing to a golden calf (a read 'calf' as part of a leg: Masonic rite, bare the calf, but Pythagorean in origin)

If there is only one god, then why warn about that which doesn't exist?

And anyway, knowing all that will occour in history, what is the point of IT?
