ottawa skies debrie? ufo? comet? sunset time 2 days in a row

Hey there, live in Plantagenet working in Ottawa. I saw a bright.... something in the west yup around 630 last night, at first I figured it was Venus, but then thought that it was too high and way off the ecliptic. I only have a view to the west for a short bit of my drive and no easy view at home. Damn trees. I saw it again tonight.
I've also noticed alot more 'trails up there say over the last couple of weeks. There must be some meteorological phenomenon present here because No jets are leaving Any lingering trails east of Ottawa.

I live in Orleans too, I'll keep an eye out tomorrow night...though it's supposed to be cloudy. West, around 630pm you say?

Thumbs up for being able to relatively determine the ecliptic! Astronomy geeks are great in these cases.

i looked tonight had good view but all i caught were a few chem trails heading west toward Department of National Defense no doubt , i think that what ever is happening up there and down here is crazy and interesting .

i have witnessed for the last two days around 6 pm something strange in the skies of Ottawa. i m from Orleans and when i have looked up to the sky towards the west i have seen 1 bright light and around it what looks to be falling matter with a tail of smoke and the falling matter is shiny either on fire or metal like but unlike a plane , today i saw one constant bright light and also one that appeared for a few moments and was gone and also , i wanna know if anyone else is seeing this, im gonna look tomorrow to see if it happening again , i want to take pics or video but my cam is a piece of crap i hope someone else captures it .

are you in Canada ..lol you made reference to Ottawa if so i saw a object similar to that about 3 nights ago ..a steady bright light like a spotlight and a little bit further right a smaller light ..it made no sound as it passed from right to left in front of my view ,i thought maybe it was a helicopter or a plane but it was dead silent and close enough i should have heard something mechanical

At what time?

um i think it was in between 9:00 pm and 10:00 ..lol i didnt have a watch on i was rushing to timmy's lol

edit it was'nt anything meteorological i am pretty well versed on comets, meteorites ,lunar halos..lol and as far as planes go i live near an airport , but i it was close enough i should have heard some sort of engine , it had 2 seperate parts the brighter spotlight at the front and the lesser bright light that was not connected at the back .but it was quiet enough to here scuffing of feet if someone was coming up behind you , and it made no noise
