This is sad to see the state of this town, and it shows a glimpse of an American soldiers life in Iraq.

Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Free from water supplies, free from electricity, free from thier homes, free from thier schools,
free from jobs, free from thier lives.

Freedom to wander the utter desolation that used to be thier town.

Its good to be free.

It hasn't even been a decade since they have been liberated. It took 40 years for Europe after WW2 to fully get itself together. We tend to live and believe in a world that we can throw into a microwave, and out pops a delicious morsel - not so.

America will soon enough be gone from Iraq, and then you'll witness "REAL FREEDOM" - aught to be lovely really. They'll wish the yanks were still there once the whole country falls into the hands of another dictator, and there's dissention in the ranks of their fetus military that won't be abe to stabilize what it takes to hold a constituion together.

It is FREEDOM - if they can keep it.

yea, the kind of freedom you and your family would enjoy too, right? Give me a break with that crap. It is genocide there, nothing less. I bet you would piss your pants if you and your family had to live one week there, so dont act like they got it all good, because it is nothing close. Even under Saddam, they had clean water, gas, electricity, medicine, etc, now they live in the stone ages.

Well, my family probably wouldn't have sabotaged its own restoration/rebuilding efforts either..blowing up their own gas, water, sewers, electical stations and assassinating their own police, holding neighbors hostage for ransom..you know that kind of stuff.

Oh i know..of course it was all justified... but had they just allowed the Corps of Engineers to do the jobs they were sent to do..IE ..REPAIR SHIT..then it wouldnt have taken nearly as long, and we would have been back out of there already.

Shit they went and waged their own civil war against each other, under our noses..
(which was the reason Sadam was so fucking cruel in the first place)

As much as youd like to believe the whole thing has been a black/white type of deal from the beginning...it hasnt. We sent thirty thousand engineers to fix ALL of those problems..but they were sabotaging EVERYTHING.. their OWN water, their OWN sewers, their OWN Electricity...their OWN police forces...their OWN oil refineries and pumping and piping stations..and killing ANYONE who dared help us rebuild..Brilliant strategy.

Yes we were wrong to be there..BUT they were ALSO wrong to shoot themselves in the foot to prevent these repairs from occurring..

Its easy to say its completely our fault, becuase of COURSE we shouldnt have been there (even i say that)...BUT since we were..it would have been in THEIR interest to let us fix shit, instead of blowing it all up and sabotaging it..and slaughtering each other at a rate of about 5:1 over our killing them.

That's the facts on the ground..

Sounds pretty black and white to me.

The truth is they tried to do the war on the cheap, tried to get away with using as few troops as possible. Winning the war was easy, half the iraqis went home before the war started.
It was only after the war that the iraqis realised that there were not enough troops to control the peace that the real trouble started.

The truth is Iraq should never have been a country in the first place, its made up of three different people who hate each other. The sunnis hate the shites, the shiites hate the sunnis and they both hate the kurds. It took a dictator to keep the country togeather.

This is just another legacy of the nation building that the west forced on the mideast after WWII.

Low, fist off let me say I am glad you kept this on an intellectual level and didn't come out slinging insults at me for saying this.

A. I don't think you can blame the civilians for anything, you don't really know who did those things, and you do not know motives either. However we do know this was a false war and an occupation to "liberate Iraq" from it's oil reserves.

B. Personally I know first hand that the marines do false-flag missions all the time there, dressing up like civilians and attacking/blowing stuff up. So to direct this all at the civilians fault is laughable to me, becuase I know why the shit was taken down and kept down.

They are destroying the people there, just like Israel does to Gaza, it is pure Genocide.

Funny how I was reading this article on wwII where the soldiers would get in trouble if they shared any food with the starving civilians, one soldier was arrested for giving a candy bar to a small starving child. This is how our military operates, and just like the video above clearly shows, we destroyed that city, we destroyed that country, we are destroying the people who are left.
