Political reform is too little ...... way too late. The people running our country are criminals and have their own agenda they are pursuing (with their buddies in the UN). I personally doubt we get out of '09 with our skin intact.

While I would agree that a third party is doomed to failure and this country would run much better without parties unfortunately we havn't the time to achieve such. The majority of Americans think in a paradigm that requires parties. So give them a party separate from ALL of the bullshit that they can get behind. Up until now being separate from all of the bullshit meant you couldn't get into debates and you fielded no chance of getting any major media to back you.

Right now though with so many people pissed off on Both sides, it could work. It can't be any of the other failed parties though, it would have to be a new party. People want serious change and they are finally realizing that an extremely old party is not really about bringing change to the system, its just about acting like they are opposite to the other long time power holders (which isn't true).

I think this is a good idea, hell I might even drop my Independent status if it appears something like this is for real.

Don't be so quick to abandon the policies of the Independent party. The independent party had worked for years to gain legitimacy and secure a position as a respectable political party. To undermine that with the introduction of a new party would, in my opinion, be counterproductive.

I was of the mindset that the Independent "party" is not a party at all, it is people that are Independent of any party status? If it is a party then what are the principles it is founded upon and what are the main goals of it?
