For the first time on record in Latin America, a female has levitated in mid-air on Friday (March 27) in Lima. The feat was pulled off by a Peruvian magician who goes by the alias of "Princess Inca." Claudia Pacheco, aka Princess Inca, drew a multitude of fans for the event staged in the central Plaza de Armas square in the coastal capital city. An alumna of the Peruvian School of Fine Arts, Pacheco was inspired to take her levitating act public after taking part in the World Congress of Magicians held earlier this year in Peru. The accomplishment on Friday, which was measured at 30 cm off the ground, left the gathered spectators spellbound. "It was an incredible experience. I couldn't believe that she was right there, in midair, and even more so that there was nothing underneath. It really surprised me - I don´t understand how she did it," said Juliana Rodriguez. Pacheco, who levitated in the standard yoga position, also took time to talk to the press. "Today I've presented for all of you the first act of levitation by a woman in Latin America. I have kept myself suspended in mid air, supported by a bamboo stick, for, I'm not sure how long, a half hour or so," Pacheco said. She is not, however, the first Peruvian to pull off the feat. Richiardi Jr. gained fame in Peru in the 20th Century for also pulling off a levitation above a broom. Another recently high profile mid-air performance came outside of the White House in 2007, when a Dutch magician left gathered spectators equally spellbound. Although Princess Inca isn't spilling her secret, one way that illusionists perform this trick is to sit on a seat that is anchored by a rod that eventually connects to the pole. The rod can be hidden under flowing clothing. The Incan Princess is planning to take her act to the Peruvian cities of Cusco, Trujillo, Piura and Puno.

i'll call this one fake, cause of the stick she was holding it's prolly the same trick indian vodoo doctors use the stick runs along her skirt and she's sitting on a platform that's connected to the stick. unless there are other footage where she does it without the stick or closer view to show the stick aren't touching her at all.
Its fake and here is how shes doing it.
This one used to stump me, always thought it was awesome-
All of the illusions using a post or cane use this method, although its still calimed that the original Indian Mystics could do it, but who knows..
Strange they call guys like in that video "Fakirs"
