.

so there i was, but was i there
and what was there before?
lives of old, now memories cold
or this and then no more?
and if the case is made that we
know nothing of such matters
then all our time and trial will be
as dust the wind that scatters.
in essence then, as mice or men
our paths are set in rock
but shaped by tools and toil again
might further truths unlock.

thanks Mob, Socks,Hawk. it's been an awful day. i buried him in my mam's back garden this afternoon. 18 plus years old, so he had a good innings to say the least. at least he was cuddled in my arms and looking into my eyes when he went, which i count as a blessing. his troubles are over now
