I'm going to have to disagree with you Boon. Do you think its abusive to a child when you punish them for the breaking the 'rules' of your house? Or scold them for doing something else that is against your rules? You are a self professed survivalist. Would you raise your kid to be the same and learn from you? If so, then I'm willing to bet there are many that would claim that is wrong of you to 'indoctrinate' your child that way.

As for the people listening to the kid. I don't really know if they take him seriously or just egg him on thinking it's cute. But in my opinion one of a spiritual leader's, no matter your faith or belief system, primary purpose is to take what ever belief system you have and be able to help translate those lessons and teaching into everyday use. A 4 year old can not do that. That's not saying a 4 year can't teach you anything. Heaven knows I've have heard some things come out of kids mouths that make me pause and think. Kids usually being brutally honest and having a much different respective of the world than you can say some things that get the old wheels turning.

i have one rule in my house...
there are no rules.
there is only truth.
no hiding of anything.
i have no need to punish my children for anything as everything they've learned,they've learned from me.
so if they 'do something wrong',i have no one to blame but myself.
i treat my 6 year old the same way i do my 26 year old...
