Plane shot down - Benghazi, Libya

Way to sharp nosed to be a Sukhoi 22 fitter. They have air intakes at the nose. I'm going with the Mig on that one.

But was it shot down, pilot error because it was a 'captured' plane by the rebels and they didn't have a pilot trained on that plane? Details are so sketchy. If it was shot down, who by? Benghazi is in opposition control, so what shot it down?

And AJ said the pilot went down with the plane but it looks he might of made a lucky escape judging by this picture.

I confirm, Mig-23. If it is a rebel controlled aircraft, why were they flying a fighter? Typically, fighters don't have capabilities to carry bombs (unless dual-role) Were they attempting to enforce the no-fly?

Here's the plan: Protect the rebels (CIA, psyops, marines, agent provocateurs, NGOs, Egyptian mercenaries) in Benghazi. Secure the city. Funnel in weapons and special forces. Kill lots of real Libyans then occupy the country town by town until Tripoli is surrounded. Gaddafi needs to bomb Benghazi to pieces to ensure every one of these scumbags gets what's coming to them

It's a MiG 23.......they could carry conventional bombs...nothing guided as the ground attack version is the MiG 27...and has a 'duck nose' for a laser designator for the role......but it is possible for them to retro fit this device in the forward camera housing infront of the nose landing gear.
