I'm sure the news people knew this already. It just sounded better saying it was a "mysterious creature" instead
of saying "we have no news so we'll tell you about this groundhog..."

They should have run with "Al Quaida Chupacubra from hell" :nails:

Rottweillers are pretty soft dogs in reality, they were bred for pulling carts, dogs bred for hunting will normally kill a coypu in seconds, my neighbours dog likes to catch them, it takes them home & dumps them in the kitchen like a cat would with a mouse

How is a woodchuck different from a nutria (Coypu) or a groundhog for that matter?

Apparently not much...

But...
I changed my mind, I'd go with woodchuck too...

as for differences i don't know , i only know my dogs kill woodchuck all the time , dogs likes to shake them to death, sometimes the woodchucks get a few last blows in while being shook. mostly nose, ears and around the eyes, lower jaw. woodchucks do have long nails too, and they can/do bite if threatend.

Coypu
The coypu, also known as the river rat, and nutria, is a large, herbivorous, semiaquatic rodent and the only member of the family Myocastoridae.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 094624.htm

In a nutshell, they can get very big and have teeth that can do some serious damage...especially is the
rodent is rabid.

That there is a rat that could make lunch out of the trap   :flop:
