What cures is the air that is filled with essence of the onion that you breathe in during the night, in this regard the same is true for garlic.

This is 500+ year old mystery it seems, it has been just disregarded as bull shit by many, if it is, who knows, i dont. But there's normally some truth to old wives tales, also on top of that we all know that belief is the most powerful thing in the universe.
Just to let some people know, for posting this old myth my computer got hit. so somethings bloody up, people going to get you if you talk about onions and stuff, some people dont want you to believe in the onions it seems. I was only trying to help, I sense Evil about here, im going, children to think of. I dont like people attacking my computer, it worries me. Oh well

PLUR

Onion believer.

what a crock of garbage. i have onion in my dry storage thats been there for a month, i can cut it open, cook it with my pasta, and leave the other half in tinfoil, and in a container and left in the fridge........ 20 years later im still alive. and half of the time is from my family cooking. and there still alive.

listen great read but no scientific backing, no references. no studies.

My best friend is a Executive chef and he has graduated from the most prestigious culinary school, the CIA. he has cooked all around the world and no chef has ever told him this.

lol cool story bro.

:bullshit:

You can't see a virus under a microscope; the flu is caused by viruses, not bacteria; whatever bacteria the onion "absorbed" wasn't mentioned as being seen under the microscope; bacteria don't have anything to do with anything anyways.

You are slightly incorrect, but as you said, Virus and bacsilia can't be seen under a microscope, but they can under a spectroscope. "It's Dead."

The claims in the message are false. The claim that onions are "magnets" for bacteria has no scientific validity. Correctly handled and stored raw or left-over onions are no more inherently unsafe to eat than other types of food.

Food folklore: Onions 'attract' or 'collect' infectious bacteria

The notion that onions are a "bacteria magnet" may stem from an old wives' tale dating at least as far back as the 1500s, when it was believed that distributing raw onions around a residence guarded against the bubonic plague and other diseases by "absorbing the elements of infection." Believe it or not, though it has no scientific basis whatsoever, some people still believe this today.

So, in a nutshell... :bullshit:

If that wasn't enough...

This thread should be moved to 'hoaxes and disinformation'
