Akhenaten's Flying Disc

Post by Doogle » Sat Jun 22, 2013 9:05 pm

There are more Egypt savvy peeps on here, so can you enlighten further me on the story of Akhenaten and maybe the origins of The Horizon of the Sun Disc.

Do the inscriptions on the Frontier Stelae describe Akhenaten (Amenophis IV) "strolling by the river admiring nature, when a shining disc descended. The disc "spoke" to him with instructions to build a new capital for Egypt"?

And is the symbology of a disc floating over a mountain range just Sun worship or something else? Is it correct that Akhenaten also founded a new religion based on the disc?
