Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect could be a game changer for homeland security - See more at: http://fedscoop.com/microsofts-xbox-kin ... O1omS.dpuf

Unnamed federal agencies have been leveraging the Kinect 3-D motion-sensing, facial and voice recognition technologies that power the Xbox One for security purposes.

“They’re using it to look for threats,” said Greg Myers, vice president of Microsoft Federal. Although he mentioned improvised explosive devices, Myers declined to provide additional details or other specific examples, citing security and customer confidentiality concerns.

LOLZ, maybe one day we will have a dhs droid in our homes and dhs can check our asses
for bombs with useful kinect?

Check this out, when you play xbone games some of them listen to your swearing and
it effects your gaming by telling you not to swear or giving you penalties!

OMG, fascisms!!!!

Xbox One users banned for 'excessive profanity'
Xbox One users who use “excessive profanity” while playing games could lose some of their Xbox Live account privileges.

Also there is now an audio spy network used in america which listens for gunshots, since
the dhs is so interested in kinect no doubt they will be listening for gunshots
through your kinect as an excuse to invade your privacy and watch your hot
scantily clad daughters in their spying offices.

Lest we forget:

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/upshot/pent ... raphy.html

A 2006 Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation into the purchase of child pornography online turned up more than 250 civilian and military employees of the Defense Department -- including some with the highest available security clearance -- who used credit cards or PayPal to purchase images of children in sexual situations. But the Pentagon investigated only a handful of the cases, Defense Department records show.

Power corrupts. :nwo:

I fear its to little to late for Microsoft, the whole marketing thing has been a complete sham, everything they did was surrounded by confusion where they should have been concise, they forget that the gaming industry has moved on and has captured a lot of the older generation to yet the marketing has been aimed more towards the younger generation, then with piss poor marketing once again they announce stupid things like you can get live tv through the console, WTF :bang; :bang; :censored: anyone who has a console has live tv anyway so to suggest this was a favour was insulting, for many gamers all we want is a gaming console not a multimedia centre with bells and whistles, i've always been an xbox fan but have to say playstation did a proper pro job with the marketing

Well I been through like 5 x box 360s,I had high hopes when it came out & they haven't been fulfilled, the games are just so boring..for someone like me who has been playing solid since 98,its like they are just rehashing stuff for younger generations..
I spent 2 years on ps4 playing DCUniverse online..we need more mmos like that..
So this is an opportunity for Nintendo..I would but a nintendo just for a new Battalion Wars game..
As it is Imna wait for 6 months then I'll probably get both PS4 & Xbox but only of I see essential mmos on a system will I bother getting one,fck buying a console & endlessly waiting for a decent release.
Destiny looks good, but may not be as deep as its touted to be
Hell I not even played MGS4 yet on my ps3..which Ive never had to replace btw

The sensor that reads your heartbeat from four feet away WITHOUT touching you

Microsoft's Kinect sensor uses changes in skin colour to monitor heart rate
It can read beats per minute wirelessly on a person standing four feet away
Kinect on the Xbox One can also detect slight eye and muscle movements
The sensor will be sold with the console from 22 November

I wont buy anything for 6 months at the moment i have xbox live but when that runs out i think i will switch
This having to log on and creepy electronics sound bad enough, being more expensive is a big deal also but the second hand games is what im concerned about,i trade old for new all the time.Mates lend me games as well.
This new xbox sounds awful, totally screwed into the system with all your info will want your facebook account just to play a little cod.Man,i wanna play games not infiltrate the KGB. :top:

(XBox One Plus The Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Goggles Will Change Everything)

I personally think the Xbox One looks awesome, and Kinect 2.0 brings us a little closer to real "Minority Report Technologies" I seen the specs where PS4 had more stats in a couple areas but also Xbox One had a couple stats that PS4 does not even register lol so the PS4's extra numbers mean nothing...

Also you have to understand Sony fumbled the ball and forgot to pick it back up years ago. Like Sony's motion tracking technologies, they never had any good design for it and it failed ,and they will spend more time trying to sue someone over the patent than they will trying to improve the technology, the sales model of Business first and games last is what has killed Sony.

It's obvious that Microsoft will be the reigning Set-Top Box for most households for the next 3-5 years to come.

P.S. In The Sequel To The Lawnmower Man, The Device They Use To Access Virtual Reality Is Called The "EyePhone"
