Guys some great reply's

Germany outraged by Italian newspaper's 'Fourth Reich' headline

Image

German politicians have reacted furiously to this front page in the Italian daily Il Giornale with its headline "Fourth Reich" above a picture of Chancellor Angela Merkel raising her hand in a vaguely fascist salute.

The paper is owned by the brother of Italy's former prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and the article - published on Friday - was written by its editor-in-chief, Alessandro Sallusti.

It says: "Since yesterday, Italy is no longer in Europe, it is in the Fourth Reich." It argues that Germany has won while Italy, Europe and the euro have lost. It blames Merkel for failing to allow the European central bank to assist the Italian economy.

Il Giornale has been at the centre of controversy with Germany before. Two months ago, after Italy beat Germany in the Euro 2012 football semi-final, the paper published a picture of Merkel under the headline "Ciao, ciao culona" (Bye bye lard arse).

The paper has also laid into Italy's prime minister Mario Monti - who replaced Berlusconi - for not doing enough to stand up to Germany. It compared him to the appeasing British prime minister Neville Chamberlain who declared in 1938 he had "secured peace in our time" after meeting Adolf Hitler.

If it is true and the Forth Reich has risen, the next world war is so close we can touch it.

Although a crumbling Europe is a negative for Germany’s economy, Germany is taking full advantage of the crisis to consolidate its control over the Continent.

A history teacher told me one once, it's not a line... It's a circle. If you go too far to the left, you end up in the right, and if you go to far to the right, you end up in the left.

It is not a circle, it IS a line. There are State-ists at one end, that includes all the isms and ists, and non statists at the other end...ie human beings.

Yeah but time is a line within infinate circles. You can also put a rhombus in there if you like.

The Fourth Reich has taken over Europe, according to Il Giornale, a right-wing Italian newspaper. In a headlining story last Friday, Alessandro Sallusti, the editor in chief for the paper, asserted that Italy is “no longer in Europe. It is in the Fourth Reich.”
http://www.worldcrunch.com/berlusconi-n ... -/c1s6022/

These bold comments come in the wake of recent non-productive talks between Italy, Spain and the European Central Bank (ecb) over fiscal aid for the two struggling members of the eurozone. ecb President Mario Draghi has put pressure on Italy and Spain to formally apply for aid from the bank before any steps are taken to provide assistance. If either nation were to make a formal request, strict conditions would be enforced by the ecb in exchange for buying its bonds—strict conditions that would essentially put either nation at the mercy of the German-influenced ecb.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti has openly criticized the bank, stating in an interview with Der Spiegel, “… I told Chancellor Merkel of increasing resentment here in parliament—against the EU, against the euro, against the Germans and sometimes against the chancellor herself. That, though, is a problem that goes beyond just Germany and Italy. The tensions that have accompanied the eurozone in recent years are showing signs of a psychological dissolution of Europe.”
http://www.spiegel.de/international/eur ... 48511.html

Il Giornale also dished out criticism for Monti for not standing up to Germany more in the midst of the euro crisis, vividly comparing him to Neville Chamberlain, the British prime minister infamous for hastily declaring “peace for our time” after signing the Munich Agreement and the Anglo-German Declaration with Adolf Hitler.

Germany is not making many friends at the moment, but frankly, it doesn’t need to. The euro is crumbling, Italy is in trouble, and there is only one place Europe can turn to. If Germany chooses to bail out indebted Europe, expect Germany to exact its full pound of flesh in return—and that means economic, if not more political, control. Nice one socks, kind of goes with my thinking, if you push everything to its furthest point you likely end up where you began....

If we look around history and the world as we see it today, what can we really see has changed in our evolutionary pattern? NOTHING. We replace one power hungry mob by another and another.

The ONE thing in my brief statement that we fail to recognise is the word 'WE'. WE as the holders of the road maps for our respective governments give them the power to indeed replace the hungry mob... It is NOT them nor they, but WE that allows it to happen. Sometimes we are in the minority and we disagree, but the WE in our countries is made up of the majority, whether we like this or not, these are the terms of reference that allow our societies to set up and run government, the majority. So, if you see a certain country embarking in a certain direction that you do not agree with, chances are that the majority of their people agree with that direction, who are we to judge on majority rule?

Eventually, as socks points out, we end up repeating the errors of our past... one big circle.
