You know if they have a problem with the human population, there's a simple solution that doesn't hurt anyone else, and that's to kill yourself, if anyone thinks the world is over-populated, then do the world a favour, lead by example and kill yourself. :rtft:

Same goes for this professor, he should lead by example by letting me cut his balls off.

I think it could be a good idea in some respects, especially all these families that do not work and have no intention to work and provide for thier own way, that have no jobs 9 kids and just bleed the taxpayer and live in great big houses and given everything on a plate, free health care, food clothing allowances, while the rest of us work our tits off for nothing paying more and more in taxes and end up in debt trying to do the right thing! Pisses me off!

How can you say your doing something to protect children if by doing so you have less children to protect?... I listened to most of what he said in the Youtube video on this thread, up to 5 minutes then I switched it off... who is he to judge who should be able to re-produce or not? I have to admit that with child sex offenders it is tempting to agree with him, but what if a mistake is made, for instance, I probably shouldn't say this but, it isn't hard to "set someone up" as a child sex offender, simply by forwarding them images of child pornography under a different file name, calling the police anonymously after they have received them, and therefore they would, under his idea, be castrated as a child sex offender for possessing said material.

NOT SAYING DO THAT, JUST A THOUGHT. It's open to abuse.

Sterilizing depressed people is ridiculous, to take away someones chances of having children simply because they are depressed, what if the reason they are so depressed is because they don't have any children? Another danger with this, is that only people happy with their situation will have kids, people that are accepting of their current environment, which is not always ideal, people are RIGHT to be unhappy at the moment, if depressed people were sterilized then less people who are depressed would also be less inclined to seek help with it.

Drug addiction is not the fault of the individual, it's a lack of education that leads them into using addictive substances, once addicted, due to the nature of addiction, it's difficult to get them to stop using them, to expand that to drug abuse in general, then obese people could be targeted simply because they use the chocolate drug too much. Addicted people need help, support and education not castration.

So yes I watched the video, although your right, I commented after reading the article, then watched the video and posted this, so this comment is in response to the video, or at least enough of it.

I guess you're right, mistakes would be made at somepoint and then the question would be
"how many innocent people being sterilized is acceptable"

If there was a way that only people who legitimately were sex offenders could be done then I would be supportive of it, I think subjects like these. Which use arguments that he has, have cut out the middle ground of what caused instances to happen.

Maybe if more was done to understand every possible reason why bad things happen we could make changes.
