Nothing more reliable than the good 'ol FN FAL; 7.62 X 51mm Nato, aye Fleck ?

The Fusil Automatique Léger ("Light Automatic Rifle") or FAL is a self-loading, selective fire battle rifle produced by the Belgian armaments manufacturer Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FN). During the Cold War it was adopted by many North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries, with the notable exception of the United States. It is one of the most widely used rifles in history, having been used by over 90 countries.

The FAL was predominantly chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO round, and because of its prevalence and widespread use among the armed forces of many NATO countries during the Cold War it was nicknamed "The right arm of the Free World".

A British Commonwealth derivative of the FN FAL has been produced under licence as the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle.

Iamthatiam. It looks like this rifle needs a hand guard under the mussle for greater stability. The rifleman has to hold the magazine for support, making me think that the mussle heats up and without gloves (which can be cumbersome) will eventually burn your hand.

I'm rather .30 Cal NATO to Assalt Sit. cos the 5.56 X 45 mm is best fitted for urban closed quarters imo, losing much of it's acc beyond 250 Yards, the FN FAL Kicks like a wild horse, if you try it proned, you will see that depending on the ground, you would had been pushed a few inches back after six to ten rounds, requiring much strenght to keep it's shot acc steady when auto-shooting, however, the point to me is about ammo saving, and medium to long range accuracy on this case !

EDIT:You meant 'Muzzle'...lol

No FB, the muzzle is not the cooling sys, you confounded it with barrel, which is air-cooled, the hand in the case you mentioned would not touches the barrel itself, only the cooling 'cap' ....the guy is holding the mag to make it steadier as he is sniping !
