Protection Device

I was thinking, since violence is a problem that seems to have no real answer. Would there be any reason not to have something like this for emergencies:

A device that basically does a few different things. First, it releases sleeping gas, or some kind of deterrent to secure the area. Maybe smoke, a flash bang, something. Also have it send out a signal to all local cell phones, warning that a dangerous engagement has started close by, and it will also alert the authorities.

If we had people take a quick training course on how it works, when to use it, etc...and gave these devices for people to have in case of an emergency, do you think perhaps that might help? I'm not at all advocating this as an ultimate alternative to having a firearm, but a non lethal method of protection and securing an area efficiently sounds like something that average citizens might want to look into. Does anyone agree?

They do have these devices its called a bullet to the face. the sound of the report will warn of danger in the area. nobody is giving up their guns give it up.

Did you even read what I said?

I'm not advocating this as an alternative to guns. But there are a lot of people who won't carry guns, but still want ways to protect themselves.

No this wouldnt be a good idea it would just be abused...and alarms go off all the time but nobody does anything

Legally, you're better off using lethal force, devices like this will get you sued...and still get you killed. Flashbangs and smoke might stun someone for a few seconds at best. Most likely they will anger the assailant and turn a robbery into a murder.

The best way I know to protect yourself ... and to avoid violence, is practising a real full contact martial art for some years.
