Really pissed......Need Some Help, H1N1!

First I have a daughter that gave birth on sept 22cd.............all was well., but right before the birth the docs ............when my daughter had a cough recommended and prescribed Tamiflu..........Thank god for the pharmacist that said...."is you daughter pregnant" and told us he wouldn't give it to his wife unless he had to..............Well that daughter didn't take it........Now i have another pregnant daughter........feeling real tired and her back aches and she has a headache...........she calls doc..........doc without seeing her.......calls in a prescription for tamiflu............normally I would be jumping up and down in protest.......but my daughter is developing a fever................she has been oh so tired for a few days......

I don't know what advice to give...........tamiflue isn't proven for pregnancy......damn it............

I am really stressed..........sorry for the lousy post............

how can a pregnant person call the doc and the nurse says "extreme morning sickness" and then after talking to the doc..........without coming into the office prescribe tamiflu which hasn't been tested in pregnant mothers............?????

If it's any consolation my daughter got prescribed tamiflu,she too had not seen the doctor.
She took one pill and was very sick...stopped immediately,she was better a day or two later.
Just think..... what would you do if no swine flu was around?
What would you have done before?

My daughter was not expecting, so I suppose it may have had a different out come.
But my own opinion on this...... is don't take a drug, that you don't know works,or not.
Especially when a baby is involved......... what could be the implications?

I didn't really help,but those are my thoughts.

Have your daughters blood work done to see if it is a virus or flu, i will not take medications until a proper diagnosis is done, know what your treating before any medication is taken. :think:

This is a tough call. My wife wants us both to take the flu vaccine but...

I heard a guy on the radio that worked for the defense agency that said he would not take it, he would rather take his chances.

I know you have babies involved. I feel for you as we lost our last "healthy" grandbaby during the birth process - chord got wrapped around her throat.

I hope serious people respond with no bullshit.

she is resting well in my bedroom.............has the tamiflu if needed..............but it hasn't been tested on pregnant women.......

It's okay. I gave the eulogy at the funeral - that was 2 years ago. She is expecting again with another BOY!!!!! - HOLY SHIT!!!!! WHY!!!!?????

But girl, you do what you need to do, I know this is a VERY HARD choice. What does your daughter want to do?
