Religion was meant to answer the questions, "Why are we here? What's the meaning of all this....existence?"

And it evolved to be a tool of social control. Yes, you're right.

But there are other religions out there besides Christianity and Islam. What about the Hindu Vendantas? Or Zen Buddhism? Those are about getting to know yourself, and thinking FOR yourself.

"Organized religion" can be bad, and used to be abusive, but the concept of religion itself....of wondering WHY we're here and what the meaning of all this is....I think that is a GOOD thing.
