I witnessed this on live television last year so it's not photoshop or bad video quality causing this. What do you think?

I put it down to the light source, usually there is more than one light source and it can be shining on the pupil making it look distorted, you can actually see the light shining on his eyes.

fair enough. can't say you're wrong. I nearly shit myself when I saw this on the t.v though. I wish there was a better clip of this on youtube. Not my video, so I'm not the only one to catch it.

Well if Will is right then you couldn't of saw his eyes like this live could you, my answer was based on that factor, either it's edited or it's the light source, I have seen eyes go like this before due to the light source.
