Russia evacuates citizens from Syria

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated 128 citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Russia, Tuesday, from Syria as the conflict continues. Before the evacuation, the ministry delivered 24 tons of humanitarian supplies to Syria.

The Deputy Head of the National Crisis Management Centre, Sergei Yudin spoke in regards to the evacuation and the humanitarian aid. "Another consignment of humanitarian aid with food supplies and power generators has reached Syria." The Deputy Head continued to say, "On the way back, Ministry of Emergency Situations aircraft picked up foreigners who wished to return home and took them to Domodedovo airport. A total of 128 arrived- 84 Russian citizens, 24 Ukrainian citizens, 9 Belorussian citizens, 9 citizens from Moldova and 2 citizens of Tajikistan. The flight went well, without incidents."

The Syrian conflict has so far claimed an estimated 90,000 lives according to the UN and displaced an estimated 3 million.
