Maybe governments feel the human race isn't quite ready for alien disclosure and are buying themselves 20 more years to prep mankind further more for this event

my patience is wareing thin, I want it NOW

Even twenty? I personally think it's obserd to give a projected time unless; that's when it's scheduled, or they're in contact now, and are trying to figure out how to make civilization cope with the fact that there are more intelligent centiume beings in the universe. Based on the reports of us shooting first and asking questions later with these ufos, I personally think we'll have open contact when society hits that enlightenment.

Maybe he knows more than he is letting on?

They usually always know more than what they are letting out, helps to make a second story and pay some taxes. When it is direct quotes from someone, and it points to the obvious but not mentioned, keep it there floating around cause the chances are they know what's good when they talk to a news source about big things like this.

Definitely seems that way.
A person of his standing would not make such a statement if he wasn't expecting it to come true any time soon.

you don't think this is all part of "their" media mindf*ck......?

Tuor10's got a point. People usually don't risk their reputation on a whim.

On the other hand he could have been forced in some way to make such a statement.

You never know with this stuff.

Could be; although I fail to see how it would make such an impact seeing that the scientist gave a time-scale of 20 years.
Maybe he is just trying to create some attention in the hope of securing further funding?
It just seems strange to me that he would be so explicit to mention what he thinks ET will look like.
Many scientists have claimed that they will look nothing like us; now one comes out and states they will look like us.
Come to think of it: that is a mind f.ck in-itself.

A guy in his position would never disclose a thing. He has a family to feed
and to take care of. I've spent 1.5 years at Plesetsk Cosmodrom, do you
think I'll tell you a shit... Cheers.

werner von braun and tesla once took a good beer in a "pub"
and desided to fuck up humanity because it's sooo f*ing stoopid.
Just my opinion.
