During the Balkan conflict, there were many Western mercenaries fighting for the Croat's.
My cousin, after leaving the Foreign legion (he was in the Royal Marines but was discharged after serving some time in a military slammer due to a fight he was involved in during which a man was stabbed and almost died) was put in contact with a bloke who was ex-SAS and was recruiting ex-special forces/Paratroopers/Marines to fight in the Balkans on behalf of the Croat's.
My cousin was paid a lot of money; much more than he earned with either the Marines or the Legion.

Can someone tell me what's so graphic about this? I wanna check it out, but unlike most people I have not become desensitized to gore. Is it really gory, or just graphic due to it being a dead body?

to some seeing a dead body is to much for them to take ,,,so its best to say graphic content then the cant moan about seeing a stiff

a big west country connection with the volunteers in FYR ,,the croats feared the british ones as they stood there ground and fought ,,when i was there with the military i met a kid i went to school with he was fighting for the croat's and at school he was the person you would of never thought would end up fighting ,,

Yes, they have a lot of respect for the British out there.
Apparently, there were a few thousand ex-Army out there fighting.

Yeah, agreed travvy , I'm weary about that info as well ,just that we know al quida is
fighting with the rebels in Libya , and we all heard the stories of U.S/ al quida
involvement , but Russian involvement is sort of a novelty in our little circle so i decided to
share , like you ,i have no idea if it's real or not , fleck indeed might be right it
could be some private company , it's definitely a peculiar and intriguing

did you notice iron this last week i heard on the "msn"=news,that the "rebels" refused an offer of help from the un/us[i think it was] to create new gov,?

it may be that using these guys in this way could be a major backfire now,maybe anyway,if they are now refusing military help like it said,then maybe they are planning to break free from us/un and set up there own show,? afterall,they are terrorists like alqaeda are they not? some of them,im talking about a double play here,its just an idea anyhow,
