Yeah that is what scares me about webcams! I always wondered if some sicko on the internet some crazy hacker might get into someone's computer and activate their webcam. It could be any crazy loon from the internet. I don't take any chances, that's why I like the kind that you can disconnect from your computer. There are crazy people in this world. :peep: They make up new trojans and viruses every day so if they can't now on any given day they may be able to. What if some sicko can hack into someone's computer and find out where you live then hack into someone's webcam and see what you look like then come after whoever they want. There are new technologies made every day. :peep:

Exactly! How do we know they were not watching them get undressed or God knows what else! That crazy! :peep:

thesaint wrote:The scariest thing about all this is we have a senior member of the school actually calling in the student in question for "improper behaviour", as if it's the most normal thing to do. To think that there is a mindset like this out there that thinks it's acceptable. What kind of a society are we becoming? SICK!

Exactly!!! They have no right to spy on or even punish kids for anything they do outside of school property! They do not own those children they are not the children's parents, what gives them the right to police anything the kids do away from school, that's the crazy part! Not to mention what they may see when they activate the cameras like MINORS UNDRESSING??!! :o And what if the parents are using the computer at any given time, now they are spying on the parents? That's some crazy stuff. Imagine the computer in the parents' bedroom and the cam activating while the parents are having a private adult moment ;) if you know what I mean. That stuff is sick and wrong on soooooo many levels.

There are a few, but I've got an app on my ipod/iphone called Logmein. Through this you can see everything someone is doing on your computer from anywhere in the world, control it, turning on the webcam and everything. Work places use these to monitor what their employees are doing.

theres alot of programs that can do this. and some of them even make it so the end user doesnt even know they are being spyed on.

alot of the legit ones (logmein, gotomypc, etc...) are really good and have a pretty secure encryption so its safe. ( to access a computer u need a login to the site, and login to the computer, and sometimes even another code). theres also alot of them that are used for businesses. you also have to realize that if you work for a company, they dont need to have permission to spy on you, anything you do on the computer related to the internet/email is usually recorded and goes right through the network equipment that is designed to record every site youve visited, also emails have to be saved by federal law for i think up to 5 years? and its all completely legal because you signed it.

as for the school , i hope they get their asses sued. this world is filled with dumb people who dont realize that if they can do it, anyone can get access to it the same way
