Re: The Martian

The book was terrific. It's like Robinson Crusoe in space.

Re: Obama secretly backing Muslim Brotherhood

The first democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, is currently sitting in a jail cell waiting to be hanged. Egypt is the 4th highest recipient of US aid money every year after Afghanistan, Israel, and Iraq. The Washington times is about as trustworthy a ne...

Re: NSA spying powers may expire as lawmakers are at odds

This is what I'm talking about. Fears NSA will seek to undermine surveillance reform Monday 1 June 2015 Privacy advocates fear the National Security Agency will attempt to weaken new restrictions on the bulk collection of Americans’ phone and email records with a barrage of creative legal wrangles, ...

Re: Satellite images show Russia faked its MH17 report

Russia has the best hackers in the world. I find it almost impossible to believe they'd do a half arsed job of faking something like this. As for trusting the patriotic heroes at King's College London's war studies department, no thanks. Everything we need to know about this case comes down to cui b...

Re: NSA spying powers may expire as lawmakers are at odds

As pleasing as it is to see a bi-partisan group of politicians get together to try to stop this bullshit, I have a low degree of confidence that the alphabet soup agencies will follow the law and actually stop, when it comes down to it.

Re: The Roswell Rock

Cool thread, never heard of either of these.

That gold grasdorf plate is unreal. Even a chunk of (not particularly pure) gold that big would be worth a fortune.

Re: Penn Jillette Vs The Duck Commander On Atheist Morality

I was thinking and wanted to expand my point to you Middle. The ability to love comes from God. It is a reflection of His nature. Your very ability to recognize good, or to love, only exists because of where these attributes come from. The argument the vid makes is that without some external source...

Re: Penn Jillette Vs The Duck Commander On Atheist Morality

an athiest pretending to be civilized dosen't kill and eat anyone so that he dosen't stand out not because he has innate morality If it's not innate, then from whence does it come? Why is it that when people lose their faith, they usually retain their basic sense of right and wrong, or when they fi...

Re: Penn Jillette Vs The Duck Commander On Atheist Morality

I haven't known all atheists in the history of the world. ...and yet you're quite comfortable making blanket statements about their ability to love. If you are correct about that negative assertion, what does it say about God? God invents the greatest thing in the universe, the very thing that make...

Re: Penn Jillette Vs The Duck Commander On Atheist Morality

You probably shouldn't read too much into anything seen on Penn and Teller's Bullshit. They've backed away from some of it, and Penn has said quite a few times in interviews that the time pressure and expense of making a television show dictated what ended up on screen more than any strongly held op...
