Fiction: something that is not real.

Symbology: a representation of events portrayed in subjectively real manner.

Realism: Something that is portrayed as actual events.

This movie is both fiction and symbolic.

There is no hidden meanings to me, unless the movie was non fiction and presented as realism.

I think Alex is digging at the bottom for this one. He is entitled to his opinion though.

Isn't he a christian too?

So the description he gave for the movie also applies to his religious beliefs too. Considering christians believe they are destined for something greater than themselves.
