WOW that's nasty. One vial looked like it had oil on top, and the other looked like straight heated fat/grease. Good thing our bodies are heated enough to keep the fat from solidifying. I bet if you jump into a freezer after eating like that you would die way way faster because your blood would solidify faster. :scary:

They should have done an alternate control test by making someone eat something healthy, then show the comparison of both blood vials after the meals.

I felt the need to comment on this subject, because I had changed my diet due to the fact that my significant other discovered that he has a bunch of different food allergies, with wheat, and corn, and of course, corn syrup is used in many fruit drinks.
We eat a lot of salad greens, very little beef, mostly chicken and fish and occasional pork products. Rice is commonly used. Most cereals out there have wheat glutton in them, so you really need to read the labels, especially if it means, life or death for you. He was literally starving to death because the wheat glutton was blocking his intestines from absorbing nutrients. Sad, but true.
As far as how much fat your body takes in on a daily basis, we need to keep in mind that less is more. Obesity isn't pretty, but I do think that it can be prevented, as long as you eat in moderation, and of course, do some kind of exercise everyday ( I walk to and from work everyday ).
I was married to a person, who could be considered as being obese, because he weighed over 240 lbs, and is only 5'6'' tall. He would sit down to a meal, which had to consist of meat ( mostly beef ) and potatoes. I would be the first person to get up from the table with usually one helping of everything, and he would still be sitting there eating till he had his usual 3 helpings of everything. Needless to say, not very long ago, my ex had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which involves taking a shot of insulin before you eat.
The reason that I brought up the diabetes thing is because I believe that he got diabetes from his bad eating habits, which caused him to be obese, in the first place.

Lisakitty, a very good post. Type II diabetes is acquired later in life and is due to dietary abuse. I found that my blood sugar was high about 2 months ago and it has been a blessing in disguise. I bought a glucose monitor and started taking tests. The effect of blood sugar on your everday life is dramatic. The foods you eat change your blood glucose levels quickly. I had never stopped to think that maybe there were things going on inside me that were effecting my life. I drastically changed my diet and I am getting my blood sugar under control. I feel better now than I have in my 55 years of life. I strongly recommend checking your blood sugar even if you don't think there is a problem. It provides you a speedometer for you lifestyle and gives you instant feedback on how your lifestyle is effecting your health.
