Last night I went to a 14th birthday party.

I took my two youngest my daughter and my son.
MY boys the middle and the older one were unhappy that my daughter was wearing a short skirts, not tight but half way down her thigh, there was no cleavage showing, she did have shorts on underneath but we are overly protective, because she is a beautiful little girl, and I know what boys are like. Well I thought I did.

When I arrived I was disturbed by what I saw,
13, 14 ,15 year old girls half naked dressed in the most provocative outfits and shortest skirts you can imagine. They made my daughters outfit look saintly.
It was like watching a rap video it was seriously that bad. All the girls with makeup layerd on to their faces.
The girls all danced like they was in a rap video very provocatively and for young girls overly sexual.

The boys were all dressed in jeans, tee shirts and track suits, the boys were dressed like young boys. They acted like young boys.
I would say most the boys were clueless about girls, I think the boys spend all their time playing PS3 and XBOX and they dont know the first thing about girls, I found the whole situation an eye opener.
The girls looked like women and the boys looked like boys. The girls ran the show.

I spoke to the mother of the birthday girl and there was no security or door man so I volunteered to stay and keep an eye on things, she was grateful, the evening went with out any problems or fights, they were all good kids.

I have heard of the sexualsation of children by the media but last night was the first time I actually saw the effects with my own eyes and I was horrified.

The thing is the parents buy these clothes for their girls, they dress them in these outfits and then let them go out in them. And then we wonder why child pregnancy and std's are rocketing, as well as rape which is on the increase in that age group.

IMO the parents are as much to blame as the media.
All the parents I spoke to said how shocked they were by how the girls were dressed, but still had the gall to send out their girls dressed like that. Brainless puppets everyone of them.

I know what you are talking about and i'm worried also.
But i think it's mostly the responsibility of the parents to clear things up.
They need to talk! And not the simple talk... parents have to explain everything
in the littlest detail, cause kids need a basic understanding of what is going on
in the world. And the parents need patience while doing so. Repeatedly.
I know... "brainwashing" may sound a bit too harsh, but it's basically what it is.

My parents and everyone around them always told me when i needed caution,
what i was doing wrong and right, what to watch out for, etc. etc...
...and sometimes they even told me how to think. And it worked.
Easy as pie. I'll be always hearing certain sentences echoing in my mind.
That's what they wanted. They wanted me to be safe and even if i didn't want
to hear that as a kid... most of the time they were right.

I've had my fun while i was a youngster, but i also drew a line and stopped
before it got too hefty. I had a clean conscience and my parents were worry-free.

And to rescue (some) of the media, i have to admit that i was a very very premature boy.
I've seen things as a 5 year old kid that no kid should see that age. Lots of naked flesh...
I've played bloody video games at the age of 10. It frightened the sh*t out of me everytime.
And i joined various scenes. From metal to hip-hop and so on...

Rezults: I never raped anyone. I never shot anyone. I'm still no gangster.

The conclusion of my talking is...
Explain the world to our kids, so they don't get anything wrong.

I would agree....so much I hear "she looks like she's 21" but really they look like 12 year olds trying to look like their 21. It's like young girls only have a few short years of getting to be real kids before whatever in our cultures pressure them into being young women. Kinda sad really, I'd love to go back to the innocent times of when the opposite sex had cooties.

Where parents serve this function whilst in the younger years (due to the time they spend with their children) the bond is broken as parents spend greater periods of time accumulating wealth or paying off artificially high debts, rather than spending time with their children.

So what has changed? Dependency is being lost at increasingly earlier ages, children are getting older (mentally) a lot sooner than they used to, but not in a balanced manner, they are indeed becoming a hybrid of children with adult mind sets. When in doubt children often fill the blanks with their imaginations. Parents need to form lasting bonds with their children at early ages and then work to retain these bonds. Children need to understand and accept that what their parents state may not always be in line with peer groups, however that what they say can be trusted and validated. Children will otherwise seek acceptance from their friends, peer groups etc, and as we know, there are way too many lunatics out there eager to fulfil this function and take advantage at the same time.

Parents are conflicted between the traditional family values and an unprecedented increased levels of social and economic pressures, they often leave the more intangible aspects of rearing children to other means, teachers, media, peers etc.
