ROFL still hard on for Bush.. That shit cracks me up. And spot on 99!
How about suspending elections outright? Would non voters support that?

Now, say (like my state) we have a state that is issued 4 electoral votes. If one percent of that vote (about 2,500,000) people chose not to vote at all, per state, they would surely know their vote was casted for them, against their will. Which, add 50 states together, would comprise a good number of really pissed off Americans. With cheeseburgers and shotguns in hand.

The power to dissolve the federal government belongs to the States, not to the people. If persons rise up against the government, it's treason.

Do us all a favor... go vote in your local elections in a couple of weeks. :flop:

The term you chose is 'rise up. The term I chose is 'Give up.'

If the public did nothing at all, the system would surely fail. If the Public straight up and packed their bags, went for a nice 4th of july weekend for a couple months, the government would not have a job to do. The difference in our meanings is the difference in action from the public. Causing a disruption from a states/countries function could be considered to be treason. Giving up and leaving the system entirely, well, thats a whole new story on its own.

I do understand your meaning though. Personally, between all of the bullshit that is spread amongst candidates is the reason I do not vote. How can they state what they do against their fellow Americans, fellow neighbors, hold any weight? Half of the shit they say on the TV against each other can easily be validated through legitimate research about thus candidate.

If they allow that BS to flow on the air, then they certainly will not change their opinion on who should get the golden globe award. Unless the public walks away from the system.

FYI, for all of you who want to bash on Bush. He is probably one of the smartest presidents we have had in the past 50 years. He was phenomenal at geography, politics, spelling and grammar, he was an award winning debate student from Yale University. Also a notably good theatrical artist for Yale.

The public wanted a more retarded concept grasping president to support the means they wanted(farmers.), they sure as hell got one.

I still fail to realize how this is a solution. If the public "walks away," then "they" have won. There will be no one left to stand for a democracy when "they" declare a dictatorship.

You are so smart! They'd be dictating to themselves! Then they'd have everyone right where they want us!

The idea is that if people don't participate, then there is no "system" anymore, just assholes who think they're in charge of everyone ignoring them.

Ahh... but you would be surprised how many groups hold authority behind the curtains of "Politics."

They can declare a dictatorshit all they would like, and we would see how fast the Army responds to that. There has been no 5 star general of the army since Washington and Nathanael for thus reason.

Not to mention the amount of corporations that could just up and move, hindering the armys development in this country. The amount of Olympians who would defect, the peoples in development of technology ect ect.

The whole system, at this point, remains with the people (until they vote to change it.) and that is what I am trying to stop.

No matter with all that has been passed since 200 years ago, all the power at this point remains with the public. It is 'We the People' as of right now.

The only group that is totally owned in america right now is; the farmers.

After reading all of the above it seems like a new voting system should be started.
Many of you like Ron and want him to run for office. Ok, What happens if he does not make it to the finals. Then most of Rons people would stay home that day and not vote. That's what I would if faced to vote between two people I don't believe in. So what would happen if all ballots added new choice. Call it "Neither" So when election day rolls around everyone could go out and vote for some one. If "Neither" actually won the votes then the two others should be removed from the process and a new election held. I think most people don't vote because they do not want to put there vote on someone they don't like. But they are forced to choose between two dislikes or stay home. So they stay home. This would end the question about how many people actually want to vote but don't.

With the system currently in placed you are forced to pick from 2 or stay home. I have read many times that more people did not vote than did, maybe they would pick "Neither" and their voices would be heard.....When asked, you could say I voted for Neither and we won this time.
